Menudo
Live from Alltell Stadium on ESPN Sunday Night, The Jaguars and Steelers were ready for a fight; The Jags needed a win to keep playoff hopes alive; And out came their offense for the opening drive; The Steeler ‘D’ was fired up, and to Jags fans dismay, After three plays, they were punting away; The Steelers started off, meeting all their fans hope; Big Ben was hitting Hines, and there were Yoi’s coming from Cope; Big Ben’s back to pass and throws it once more, He completes it to Ward, who gets in for the score; Reed added the PAT, to Steeler fan’s delight, But the Jags were about to prove, this would be a tough night; The Jags started moving the ball on the ground, And through the Steelers defense, they continued to pound; Leftwich took the snap and brought the Jag fans some joy, As he hooked up for a TD with the former Steeler, Troy; This game was starting out physical, and the hits were tough, The Steelers certainly weren’t playing an easy creampuff; The Steelers got the ball back with some good runs by Duce, With the ball deep in Jags territory, the ‘O’ had to produce; The Steelers ‘O’ showed that they came to play, Big Ben throws a beautiful TD pass to Jay; It’s now 14-7 and the ‘O’ was in a nice groove, But for the remainder of the half both teams struggled to move; The Steelers started the 2nd Half, receiving the ball, But the Jaguars tough defense continued to stand tall; The Jags moved the ball and were looking to score, The drive started at their 2, but they were now at PIT’s 4; But from the Steelers defense, the Jags could not break free And the Jags settled for a field goal from their kicker Scobee; The Jags were controlling the clock, a key to succeed, But the Steelers were holding onto a one point lead; The Jags ‘D’ stood tall and Gardocki had to punt, Leftwich was looking to move his team out in front; Fred Taylor was moving, the Jags ‘O’ was on a roll, And with under 2 minutes left, they kicked the go ahead field goal; It was time to see what Big Ben was all about, The Steelers had the ball without a timeout; But Ben showed great heart and a whole lot of poise, As he engineered the offense despite the crowd noise; With the game on the line his passes were pristine, As he led the offense all the way down to the Jaguars nineteen; The ‘O’ was given a challenge and they sure did succeed, The game was in the hands of the kicker Jeff Reed; The stage was set, the game on the line, Reed took advantage of his opportunity to shine; The kick was good as the players began to scream and shout, But there was still time on clock, it hadn’t run out; The Jags took the ball and got in position for a prayer, A 60 yard field goal was kicked in the air; The ball had the distance, but was off to the right, The Steelers had won it, oh what a night ! The Jags failed to get win number seven, While the Steelers picked up number eleven; But I’m tired and hungover, so that’s it for now, As I continue waving my terrible towel;

Caveman_Nick
Lady Luck did visit Pittsburgh for a spot last night, but a win is a win. It will be fun to see the #1 seed in the AFC come down to the wire. Pittsburgh has far and away the tougher task to win it. Hope that she visits again, and if you win it even grace from lady luck won't take away that you earned it. I thought last night would be a stumble for the Steelers. Nicely done. Hugh 0ne
Menudo is a huddler who loves his boy band, And his love for the Steelers is obviously grand, Each week he comes to the huddle and writes a poem, All of us non-Steeler fans just wish he'd go home. He writes and he writes how the Steelers kick butt, But where will he be when they get in a rutt? He talks about Hines, Duce, Jerome and Ben, Is it me or does he have man-love for these men? He screams and he yells and professes with might, That he could kick Uglytuna's ass in a fight. After having read both of their posts for more than a year, I could care less who wins as long as they both disappear. This stuff isn't that hard. Bill Swerski
Nice. Wish I had artistic talent... Jacksonville is probably the best team in the league that just can't get it done. They're as good as anybody in the AFC (except maybe NE), yet they're still 6-6. They can beat the contenders (IND, DEN), but fall against the pretenders (TEN, MIN). Their kicker is great at times (the 53-yd game-winner at Indy) and also blows easy opportunties (the short kicks vs. Indy earlier this year and last night). Leftwich makes big plays, but he's never healthy. On the flip side, Pittsburgh couldn't run the ball to save their lives last night (Bettis was clearly more effective than Duce, but he was never on the field) and their deep threat WR was out, yet they found a way to get it done. And if it weren't for the stupid penalties, they would've won by more. Big Ben may not be the most polished QB out there, but he's going to be very, very good in the future. Hugh 0ne
3 teams are head and shoulders above the rest right now, and that's Pittsburgh, New England and Philadelphia imo. There is NO ONE in the NFC that is even close. In the AFC you could make an argument for 1 or 2 other teams. As for your poem, it is good, but not accurate, trust me I'm not a person who claims I can kick people's ass in fights while sitting behind a computer. Sorry that these poems are bothering you....... If you come in here thumping your chest about Steeler wins each week, you really have to be prepared to get some in return. I know you never threatened to kick UT's ass, but it ryhmed. Besides, I'm a disgruntled Vikings, and have to let my anger out somewhere. Also, I thought my poem was rather good. Take it with a grain of salt, it was not meant in a mean-spririted way. Just thought maybe there was a beef you had with me that I was un-aware of. Don't worry, the Vikes are in the NFC, ANYONE could come out of that pathetic conference, there's still a chance for your Vikes.
Easy n Dirty
The Jags are pretenders, to beat them is no feat Next up are the Jets, and they'll bring the heat Pittsburgh's holiday season is about to turn south And we'll all get relief from Menudo the Mouth On Abraham, on Ellis, on Martin, on Moss When this one is over, Menudo will toss The Jets will prevail with ease, and then We all will be spared another dose from his pen So party on I say to the Steeler fan Enjoy it now, while you still can Week fourteen to you will not be nearly so kind When the Jets come to town, and kick your behind Edited December 6, 2004 by Easy n Dirty

Easy n Dirty
The Jets are pretenders. The Steelers are gonna bury the Jets. 595784[/snapback] C'mon man, anyone can post that kinda' gibberish. And the Jets are for real, the defense is solid - 17 points allowed the past 3 weeks, and 6 second-half shutouts this season (half their games). This coming Sunday, the Steelers are toast And if you ain't rhymin', get off of this post (This whole thread reminds me of The Princess Bride)
alexgaddis
The vikes lost another outdoor game The defense again looked quite lame Too many turnovers cost em the win but hey, at least Tice won a challenge!!

Unfortunately for him it will be very clear to see, That the Jets truly suck and won't go ten and three. Unlike like his team in the 32 homers league, The real life Jets are just way to weak. Pennington is fragile it's quite plain to see, One hard hit by Porter and he'll break a knee. The defense is overrated as all true fans know, They played a week schedule but soon it will show. The offense has no passing game, I'm sorry my friend, And relying on CuMar's old legs will hurt in the end. So when the Jets finish at a mere nine and seven, Easy n Dirty certainly won't feel like he's in heaven. Instead he'll be hanging his head down in shame, thinking Herm and his Jets are truly quite lame. Dr. Sacrebleu
First of all, my favourite rhyme here is Hugh1 rhyming 'home' with 'poem' Second of all, my first big job as a scenic painter was working in a vacant loft space on a video for a member of Menudo trying to break in to the US market in a solo effort. Years later, I found out that I had unwittingly helped the budding young career of one Ricky Martin. I'm sorry.

I'm not in 32 Homers, but good to hear that the Jets entry is performing well. You do make a good point about the match-ups - I think the way to beat the Steelers is probably with the vertical passing game, an area where the Jets have not flourished so far this year. The Jags seemed to burn the Steelers deep at will last night, but I'm not sure if the Jets can do the same. The Jets do have a passing game, but it relies heavily on the fullback and the tight end so far. I'm not the least bit worried about Cumar's "old" legs, nor do I think our defense is overrated. The last 4 games will tell alot - we get Steelers, pats, Rams and Seahawks. 9-7? That seems a little harsh. Jets are legit, jump on the bandwagon now while you still can. FWIW, here's my serious take: I think the Jets are a decent team. I think they've had a light schedule. The only tough games they've had they lost. I think the lack of a vertical passing game really hurts them, and as Martin wears down, they will be in trouble. I think the only game they win the rest of the way is Seattle. I think they'd beat the Rams too if it was at the Meadowlands, but not in St. Louis. SO they end 10-6. Not bad. They can not play with the elite in the AFC, which is Pittsburgh, New England, and Indianapolis. If they were in the NFC they'd have a chance to go further, because they can probably beat just about everyone except Philly imo. JMHO's. Time will tell.
