spain
If Lamont Jordan were to get injured, who would get the majority of the carries? Most sites have Fargas as his backup but I am skeptical that he would be the man behind Jordan. Am I wrong?
spain
Aug 22 Reserve running back Justin Fargas was one of several Raiders' backups to struggle as Oakland gave up a lead its starters earned in the first half of Saturday's game with the Texans. According to the Contra Costa Times, Fargas failed to pick up the blitz on three occasions in the second half. He gained 35 yards on 11 carries and caught two passes for 20 yards. Views: A third-round draft pick in 2003, Fargas has not lived up to expectations. At this point, fullback Zack Crockett is being given second-string tailback touches behind LaMont Jordan in practice. The Vatican Hitsquad
Having Huggy Bear jr was fun for a few months last year, but they really need som e decent alternative back there. I love Crockett, but I don't think the guy could be a solid back up.

crispirons
why would you? isn't there better personnel left on the draftboard??? when there is no clear cut backup, or if the rb has never been injured, why bother with it? i thought you liked to gamble spain. sounds like your a waffling, wavering, al gore sort of guy. Doc Holliday
IF I were going to take 1 of the Raider backup RB's I would go with Crockett. at least he is sure to get some TD's no matter what happens. I do not see Fargas as a every down back. he is kind of like his dad(Huggie Bear),a role player not good enough to be the star of his own show. kraftykraft
Personally, I don't have much to add over what was already said. The Raiders backup RB is probably going to be Zack Crockett. If that happens, it's not going to be pretty, but at least he is good for 3 yards a carry and key short yardage downs. Fargas is just not that good :/
Return Of S&B
IF Jordan goes down, I'm afraid the Raiders running game will look a lot like last year's...an ineffective RBBC which would most likely use Fargas/Crockett/and this new guy they picked up off of waivers Leonard Henry (played for the Dolphins) Jessie Chatman (LTs former backup) was in camp a couple weeks ago (after the Chargers let him go) but the Raiders didnt sign him (they should have). IF Jordan stays healthy, the sky is the limit because he has shown that he can catch the ball out of the backfield as well as run up the middle and down the sideline. Surprisingly Crockett has been getting some touches while the team was not in the redzone and has looked somewhat effective. If i had to choose one of the backups I would bypass Fargas (made of glass) and choose Crockett
