Robash
im sure this will get alot of disscussion, most noticably DD and Tiki ranked 3 and 4 if drafts were held today. While my manlove for Tiki runs deep, seems abit high for him...i would have put him at the end of the list. Huddle front page allthought i do believe he is dead on with this statement Big rookie back Brandon Jacobs will not materialize as the threat to Barber’s scoring potential that a lot of pundits have made him out to be. Randall
Is this just a week 1 ranking?
Robash
Is this just a week 1 ranking? 971025[/snapback] it appears that way, guess i jumped the gun also about tiki having to score from 20 yards out, Jacobs will likely only see td's on third down situations, tiki had no problems last year on first and second downs or from less than 20 yards 2004 rushing stats ____CAT_______Att____Yds____Avg___Lg___TD____1st FIRST DOWN........179......937........5.2.......72........8........30 SECOND DOWN....109......483........4.4.......52........4........34 THIRD DOWN........32.......104........3.3.......17........1........13 OPP 1-19..............60.......162........2.7........8.........11......19 Edited September 6, 2005 by Robash
TheCMB
I'm not worried about Jacobs vulturing an exorbitant # of Tiki's TD's, but I'm thinking about picking up the big guy just to have as a back-up. Who else do they have that would get work if Tiki went down? Edited September 6, 2005 by TheCMB
Avernus
Jacobs will be the back inside the 20 and on 3rd down....
giantsfan
Jacobs won't be the 3rd down RB. One of Tiki's biggest strengths is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Jacobs will play in short yardage and near the goal line I believe. Now will it be written in stone inside the 5 Jacobs plays? No I wouldn't say that, but he will get carries near the goal line and in short yardage situations in addition to getting a series or 2 a game to keep Barber semi-fresh. CaptainHook
I remember this being said last year about Ron Dayne too. . .
