Easy n Dirty
I know Cowher has announced that Willie Parker is his man, at least for now. Does this mean Staley has no value whatsoever? Is this guy even worth a roster spot at this point? Seems like whatever scraps are left over from Parker are more likely to go to Bettis...I think. I know Staley was a pretty accomplished receiver out of the backfield back in the day, not sure if there's a potential third down role for him when he returns to health. Pittsburgh homers, what's the latest (educated guesses are also welcome)? Is Staley expected back in week 5, after Pittsburgh's bye? And if and when that happens, does he have any role at all on game day for the Steelers? And when is Bettis expected back? I see that Verron Haynes got 11 touches in week 1 and 8 touches in week 2 - what's the best guess on how those touches get spread out once Bettis and Staley are both healthy? Thanks. Roo
I'd say he's pretty buried, yes. Things change quickly though. People will start crapping bricks if Willy can't run for 100+ yards this week against NE (silly but true). Then with the bye week, everyone will again start speculating on the return of Bettis/Duce. I still would barely value Duce above waiver wire fodder. Even if he some how gets back in to a RBBC with Bettis and/or Willie, he will still be the least valuable of the group. If the Steelers win, and/or Willie puts up half/decent numbers this week, he loses even more value. They won't stop starting him if they are winning or he's running well. jetsfan
I would guess Staley would take Hayes carries 10-11 per game. As long as the Steelers keep winning I do not see Cowher changing anything in the backfeild.

Thanks. 1008087[/snapback] Verron has ONLY played mop up duty. Only after the Steelers are up 20+ points did they bring him in. I think they brought Haynes in a little early in Houstonjust give Parer a rest in the 120 degree weather. I am a homer and have Parker and Staley. I am VERY close to dropping Staley, but I have a very deep league and there is not much else out there to replace him. Staley is nor Parkers backup and should be treated like so.
