They are more agreeable when they think they'll win up until the final game of the season.

Bates has left, along with the fact the defense were 7th ranked was they often played a short field with bad special teams coverage. So I am not that optimistic. So I am not that optimistic. 1444770 No, anyone who is realistic wouldn't be. This from a JS article- In his career at Iowa, Hodge caused six fumbles and deflected seven passes - a desirable quality to the Packers, who have worsened in the give-away, take-away category in recent years. "One thing that stands out about Hodge is that he can get the ball out, he can be an impact tackler," said Packers linebackers coach Winston Moss. Expected to start minicamp next week at middle linebacker, Hodge joins Nick Barnett, Roy Manning and first- round pick A.J. Hawk among others, and seems willing to move around if need be to get on the field. Thompson said he was impressed that Hodge never left the field at Iowa and said it was conceivable that he could be a starter, and not just a special teams guy, in 2006. "You never know how that's going to work out, we're going to play the best three linebackers," Thompson said. "It's conceivable, sure." Swiss Cheezhead
Hawk is not a middle linebacker, and wont be in the NFL. He is more likely to go to strong side, with Hodge if he starts to go to weak side. Makes no sense to move Barnett outside, as he has never played outside LB. 1444538 That statement is WAAAAY off base, especially for you. Hawk isn't a MLB? His skills translate VERY well to playing the middle. Actually, he could play any LB position. He has no real weaknesses, other than lack of elite height, which might reduce the chances of him playing on the strong side. Barnett has never played OLB? He was an OLB his entire career at Oregon. In fact, he started every game at strong-side 'backer in his last two years there. If you're just talking about pure likelihood at each position, Barnett will end up at SLB, Hawk will play the middle, and Hodge (if he starts) would play the weak side. Woodson gives GreenBay a great no.2 corner With the aquisitions of Hawk and Hodge, along with Poppinga being healthy, our linebackers are now a strength instead of a weakness. And Ryan Pickett will actually play 16 games this year, unlike Grady 5 games a year. This defense is on the rise.
Chavez
Makes no sense to move Barnett outside, as he has never played outside LB. 1444538 He played safety in college. I'm assuming that involved some coverage responsibilities.
