Seahawk37
Yeah I didnt see them pulling off a win. but Batch made a few big plays that won them the game, and Willie Parker and the defense played as usual. I just hate to see them win though and that Cowher/Joey Porter kiss was just too much. Keep that stuff in the Steeler locker rooms... ReturnToSender
It goes to show you that Cowher's system works. He built a great defense, not through free agency, but drafting and scouting. Think about the Steeler's for a minute. Your Cowher, you have been told by the Rooney's that your job is secure when they hired you, build your team. I am sure Bill said it's going to be a few years before it gets to the point we will win. Unlike most teams, he was told we believe in you, you have the control to build it. It's paying off now, and was evident last night. Charlie Batch led a precise attack, building on the run, with a back who never started in college or played for that matter. He was personally scouted by the Rooney family, and Cowher loved what he saw. Each year they lose more and more to FA, and find rookies, practice squad players, and undrafted players, build them into the system, and make them into new super stars. The Steelers of the 70s were built through the draft, in a day and age where free agency was a dream, and they have continued that style when all others have left it far behind. When was the last time the Raiders or Dan Synder bought a Super Bowl? Go Steelers, a real working man's team. Two coaches in the last 36 years and 1 owning family, stability breeds winners.
