The Wolf
One of the Huddlers used to post a Friday trivia piece in here...I forget who. A question would be posed and whomever got it correct would post the next...and so on and so on. It made Fridays, in particular Friday afternoons like NOW, go by quickly. Anyone recall who the Huddler was?

sundaynfl
Can't find a link to prove my question, but will keep looking... Here is the question: Broncos down by three line up to kick a long field goal to tie the game with 1 second on the clock... Elam kicks it and Tony Gonzalez jumps up just as the ball is about to cross the goal post and blocks it... What is the ruling and penalty? The Wolf
Dan Pasturini Didn't know that. I rememver as a kid reading an article on hin and he said that onr of his favorite things to do was relax, drink Cokes and eat cheese. Amazing what silly things one remembers... sundaynfl
Unsportsmanlike conduct...15 yard penalty...repeat the down? Go ahead and post a new question... but the offense is awarded two points and would lose the game. This was asked during an interview with an NFL Official a few years ago and he didn't know off the top of his head and answered at the end of the show. I can't find it anywhere... The Wolf
If I am not mistaken, i think that a field goal can only be blocked at the line of scrimmage...or else every team would position a very tall player in the end zone to leap and try to block an attempt as the ball descends. Big John
Unsportsmanlike conduct...15 yard penalty...repeat the down? It is beyond the line of scrimmage, so it is a penalty. 15 yards and automatic first down?

kerwin8
I dont see how they can call that a penalty. What if a player is in the back of the end zone and jumps to catch a field goal kick that he thought was going to miss so that he can attempt to return it? How do they distinguish between that play and an illegally blocked field goal?
