A few WDIS?

OK -- I made the playoffs in all 4 leagues, and have this week's lineups figured out except for a

few questions. All 4 leagues are standard scoring, no PPR...my thoughts and comments are below

#1 -- WDIS at flex -- Mojo Drew vs. the Colts, Cedric Houston vs. the Bills, or Andre Johnson vs. the Titans?

#2 -- WDIS at flex -- Fred Taylor vs. the Colts, Cedric Houston vs. the Bills, or Andre Johnson vs. the Titans?

#3 -- WDIS at QB -- Jon Kitna vs. the Vikes, Eli Manning vs. the Panthers, or Brett Favre vs. the Niners?

I actually have Cedric H. on all 4 of my teams, definitely starting him on 1, definitely benching him on 1, and not sure about these two. I think he's a good play, EXCEPT than Mangini has a little bit of Shanahan :bash: in him and there are no guarantees he doesn't decide to start Leon Washington this week.

I normally start a full-time RB over a part-timer or a WR, but Andre is almost like an RB in that he always (well, except last week), gets touches.

I'm kind of thinking that I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket, so I'd rather start different guys. That would mean not using Houston on either of these teams, and using Andre on one at most. I think Fred Taylor is a better play this week than Mojo Drew, partly because Mojo is probable, partly because Fred gets more carries, and partly because I think Fred is a good bet to break a 40 yarder against the Colts. :D

I am leaning towards using Fred Taylor for the 2nd team's flex, and Andre Johnson for the 1st team's. That way each of Fred, Cedric, and Andre is starting for just one of my teams.

At QB, I loved Eli early in the year, but am somewhat disillusioned lately. I picked up Favre because of his December schedule, but am concerned about his health; and figure SF will try and use Gore to control the clock and limit Favre's opportunities. :D I am actually leaning towards Kitna here, just because I think he's the least likely of the three to have a horrible game.

Any thoughts and comments are appreciated -- I'll be answering a bunch of posts tonight and tomorrow  , so if you answer mine and have one posted, let me know. Thanks!!!

(I'm not sure when I got so infatuated with these smileys....)

#1 -- WDIS at flex -- Cedric is my first pick, the Bills run D has been horrible; MoJo is a good 2nd play here

#2 -- WDIS at flex -- Again I would give the edge to Cedric over Fred, as Fred has proven he won't score much; I the RBs over Andre, Carr has been really bad and the Titans are playing better

#3 -- WDIS at QB -- I would stay away from Eli, he scares me almost as much as Grossman. I guess I would roll the dice with Kitna, out of the weather and against a foe that they won't be able to run the ball on. Lineart threw for something like 400 yards against the Vikes two weeks ago, Kitna could throw 280 and 1-2 TDs.

Thanks -- your reasoning on QB makes sense -- I'll probably go with Kitna. I agree Houston is the best play at RB, I'm just afraid to start him in 3 leagues and then have the Jets not use him.... I may wait to decide during the Jets pregame!! Mojo is probable with a hamstring, which is not a good injury for an RB -- does that increase Fred's value?

I'd go with Manning over Kitna. Panthers are banged up and Giants are still fighting. I like Eli for a couple of scores and 1-2 INTs and decent yardage. As for the others:

#1 - I'd give a slight edge to Houston because he's the hot hand and got a majority of the work last week. Add in the lack of run D by the Bills and I think you have a winner. The Jax guys are tempting but I just don't know that they can be trusted.

#2 - Toss up, again, between Taylor and Houston. Taylor doesn't score TDs but should get nice yarage. Houston has the opportunity for both. I'd start Houston.

I agree with all of this. I think Cedric will start and have a nice game. I would not start Grossman and Favre scares me. Good Luck!

I think the consensus QB pick seems to be Kitna, so I'll probably do that. I'm still really on the fence about the other spots -- I understand the reasons for Houston, I'm just afraid he won't be the feature guy this week -- if he's not a full-timer, he probably drops below both Jax backs and Andre J.

I think I'm gonna have to wait and decide on this at the last minute... thanks.

Anybody else have any thoughts?

From Rotoworld :D :

While Cedric Houston took the bulk of the first-team carries in practice Thursday, Kevan Barlow also saw some action with the ones.

The Newark Star-Ledger speculates that the Jets will activate three running backs Sunday. Coach Eric Mangini says he'll play the runners that fit best versus the opponent, so Houston and Barlow (bigger backs) would seem to be the answer for smallish Buffalo. Houston is a strong flex but Barlow might end up vulturing some short-yardage carries.

So now I'm thinking that I've got to lower expectations for Cedric. Maybe start both Jacksonville backs, one for each team? Obviously I'll keep watching, but 3 active RB's does not imply that one guy will carry the load.
