polksalet
That phone call went better than I expected. I think my father is realizing (finally) that his actions have driven everybody from his life. I think he is getting lonely. My last 2 interactions with him I have believed him to be sober. He was very civil to me on the phone (after all it wasn't my fault) and very inquisitive, even asking after his mother. Now he may work up to a boil after it sets in .. cool

Azazello1313
wow, that is a sad situation. it is a real shame that his father died and no one told him for a month. it sounds like your father knows he has some demons. i hope he finds some luck fighting them, and i hope the rest of your family finds it in their hearts to forgive him on some level and avoid tragedies like this in the future. max
Definitely a sad and difficult thing to deal with. A similar thing had happened in my family as well. My mother and her father had not spoken in years and she got a call one day to to settle his estate. He had passed 2 yrs earlier and nobody ever called to let her know. I do not envy you at all in this situation. My best to you and your family Blitz.
whoopazz
Hmmm. This is tempting, but I won't go there.
