Is it time to trade for Kurt Warner?

Recommended Posts

Check out his remaining schedule:

Detroit

@ Cincinatti

San Fran

Cleveland

@ Seattle

@ New Orleans

Atlanta

Is he primed to be a big time QB during the fantasy playoffs, especially when you are starting Matt Schaub?

I can get him and a WR (Crayton) or a RB (Graham, I would have to add a player into the trade) for Andre Johnson and I think it may be worth it. Johnson is finally coming back, but he will be in game shape for the first 2 or 3 games? There is still the risk of re-injury as well.

I don't see Warner having huge upside. I think he's better than Schaub though. So yes I would do this trade...good luck.

The upside may not be "huge" persay, but just based on that schedule alone, unless you are starting Brady, Peyton, Carson, etc. on a weekly basis he has a chance to put up some fantastic numbers over the next few weeks. I think now is an outstanding time to buy low on Warner...the fact that he had the injury, two brutal matchups (@ Wash @ TB) and a bye over the past month is a great time to literally steal Warner from the owner who grabbed him when Leinart when down and hasnt considered using him since.

With B2B games against the Lions and Bengals, I have him plugged in my lineup for the next two weeks with no notion of pulling him out whatsoever.

The trade offer currently stands at:

I give up Andre Johnson

and get back

Warner and Greg Olsen

What say you?

Looks like giving up on AJ would leave your WR corps very thin for the stretch run...

CJ is struggling a bit for a Cincy team on a downward spiral.

Stallworth is in a good situation but probably will not be very consistent with all the weapons Brady has at his disposal.

Davis is virtually useless if AJ makes it back.

Burleson is just plain useless unless you get special teams points.

With that WR group, I'd keep AJ and hope he returns to form or you might be struggling to field a few decent WRs.

What if I got back Crayton or Chambers (I'd have to give up somebody to get Chambers). I really like the deal because of the upgrade at QB and with Olsen, I am upgrading at TE too. If I get back either of those WR's, I am still upgrading at QB and staying pat at WR.

I'd probably do that if I were you. Right now your QB situation is heinous
