I am looking for a medium priced, but decent, drawing tablet that you can hook up to your pc via usb but is actually a pc all on it's own. I understand that Fujitsu makes these....but don't know much about these things and am not shelling out a couple grand for the ones I have found. Especially since I know nothing about the tech side of these..... So.... anyone have any info on this kind of thing? It will be a gift. Those are the only tablets I've ever used (except for the Koala Pad on my C64). They worked well for my purposes, and I don't think they cost more than a few hundred dollars. You really don't need the 4-way mouse, unless you are doing 3-d models and animation. (If they are doing that, then the 4-d is great!). I've used many of them over the years. and, BTW, the technology hasn't changed that much, so older models are still as good as newer ones. (So you can eBay it. From what I understand the Fujitsu one (a computer all on it's own) that she was talking about is 2400+ and we aren't talking Fusion Bucks either. Way too much when you are talking being equal with each of 4 grandkids. (Way too much anyway... LOL) I think I might have found a good one but am waiting for an evaluation.
