Crowe was good, as always, but something about the film felt flat to me. That's not to say that I thought it was a bad movie, just not as good as many would have you believe. I grew up in the town that it was set in..North bergen. They named a park that we used to hang out in after him..It was cool seeing Russel Crowe do interviews for this movie in a North Bergen sweatshirt. It's one thing to be broke as a product of being lazy. But I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to be ready, willing, and able to do anything and everything to just to feed your family and still fail because of the total collapse of your surrounding environment.
