That wasn't meant to be a spelling critique, I don't know how it's spelled either....I'm just asking the question. Are more players being arrested now than before?

 

Actually, according to this site they are nearly as high as 2006, and way up from 2005.

I think there is a definite increase in the number of players that are getting into trouble these days. Either that, or we are just hearing about it MUCH more than we used to. I am not sure the stats from year to year have changed at such an alarming rate (although, you stated they jumped considerably after '05) but I think trending the numbers over a longer period of time would show a disturbing increase.

 

Seems to me with players making more $ than ever before and the League investing more resources to educate them on the pitfalls they'll want to avoid, we would be seeing a decrease in the number of players getting arrested. I mean, when you hear some of these stories, you'd almost swear a person would have to be trying to get arrested to do something so stupid!
