gbpfan1231
Can anyone point me to a shareware product for a DVD decrypter? I own movies and want to put on my IPOD but I need to decrypt them. Thanks in advance.

AtomicCEO
I've used DVD Shrink for years. It decrypts and also compresses 9GB dual layer disks down so it'll fit on a 4.7GB standard DVD-R.

I just tried DVD Shrink and it wouldn't do anything with Transformers...
Skippy
I just tried DVD Shrink and it wouldn't do anything with Transformers... Did you decrypt it first? I use Roxio after I decrypt with DVD Decryter and rarely have a problem. I have done Transformers.

theeohiostate
None of those programs can compare to using AnyDVD and NeroRecode however. The creator of DVDShrink went to work for Nero which uses a constantly updated version of Shrink , which hasn't been updated in several years now. I can encode a movie in about 7 minutes with Nero Recode, whereas Shrink, DvdCloner and others with ancient encoding takes much, much longer. AtomicCEO
Shrink , which hasn't been updated in several years now. I wondered if that was the case. Every now and there there is a movie you just can't do with DVD Shrink, I've found. But, on the other hand... it's free, so... you know. Well, I don't have Transformers with me at the moment to try again, but I tried 300 with DVD Decrypter and then used Total Video Converter to convert it to mpg4 (read: PSP) and when I played it, the sound was all screwy and in Spanish in some parts and English in the other! Hell, I only converted the one big ass file, I guess I have no idea what I am doing or what sequence to do it in.

I was looking for something to re-encode to DVD and I saw you mentioned Nero Recode. Since I own Nero I looked and there it is. Also says it will allow you to select the audio track(s) and/or sub(s) when creating MPEG-4 content. Thanks for mentioning it! Is there a way to decrypt using Recode? How are you using Recode?
theeohiostate
Bumping an old post as now I updated my Nero. Is there a way to decrypt using Recode? How are you using Recode? Recode is an encoder and does not decrypt. You'll have to decrypt the movie first. I use AnyDVD running in the background , but there are freeware programs like DVDFab . The only problem i have with those programs is you have to put the movie through Fab , then through Recode, Whereas using Recode with AnyDVD cuts the time in 1/2 as it decrypts on the fly. GRIDIRON JUNKY
OK, I was wondering this... If I have a Blu-ray DVD burner, is there software out there that will allow me to make copies of blu-ray discs? That will have the same HD video quality and also the same Dolby True HD audio and DTS Master Audio? I am very interested in the software if so... Blu-ray Discs are still soo expensive. I hope they start dropping the price since they won the format war.
