Yea but our backup QB is better than the Vikings starter. :D

He may not like Rodgers as well as we thought.

Says who?? The kid has never played in an NFL game..... :D

I take it to mean your starter may not be better than ours....

And I'm not saying our team is perfect, but how many glaring holes does this team really have that could be addressed without moving up?

QB- Rodgers has been the heir for years now, and they got the no.2 QB in the draft late in the second.

Need filled.

How is Broham the number 2 QB in the draft? He wasn't drafted #2.... He may end up being a great QB but he has not proven anything in the NFL.

Greenbay was in a position to draft for depth and or need and they took a WR and a QB with their first two picks. Both of these skill positions require time to develop. why are they drafting for the future?

Brohm by some was the no.2 qb. Flacco, Henne, and Brohm were all 2-4 depending on who's board you were looking at.

And as far as the drafting strategy, read my long post a few up. We don't have a ton of needs, none of which could we draft a rookie that would come in and start day one.

You find the need that could be addressed with our pick at 30 that could com in and start right away.

RB- Ryan Grant emerged as a quality starting back last year. Brandon Jackson looked very good as the 3rd down back late in the season. DeShawn Wynn looked good for depth. Noah Herron and Vernand Morencey are still here as well.

No Need.

WR- Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, and James Jones are a pretty stout trio. I'm not so high on KoRo or Martin. With Driver getting up there in age, and the threat of him wearing down paired with MM's offensive philosophy to run out 4 WR sets the Nelson pick makes sense. Nelson set records in the Big 12 and lit up Aquib Talib. He also comes in and potentially overtakes Williams as our return specialist. He also adds a big body to the WR corps, something that we don't really have with Jennings, Driver and Jones.

Strength gets stronger.

TE-Donald Lee showed he can be a decent player for us. Nothing game changing, but a good player. Jermichael Finley gets the chance to develop before he's the primary guy, but for the time being can be in on two tight end sets. He's a great vertical threat that could turn into a steal down the road.

OL- Taucher and Clifton are good to go at least for a few more years. Behind him we have Allen Barbre getting ready to take over one of those spots. Colledge is expected to take over the other tackle spot, but well see. We also have Spitz, Moll, and Coston at the guard position.

No huge need, as we have a lot of youth that is still maturing. Nothing around the packers picks that could come in day one.

DE-Kampman, Jenkins and KGB at DE already and form a nice trio. Jeremy Thompson comes in to add depth and to develop.

No real need here either.

DL- Ryan Pickett resserected his career since coming to Green Bay. Justin Harrell will be fully healthy for the first time, and showed flashes at the end of the year last year. Johnny Jolley who I love is also coming back from an injury and should be able to go full speed come mini camps.

No huge need, but I think we could see some more depth picks here.

LB- Hawk and Barnett are cornerstones to our defense, Chillar will overtake Poppinga at SLB, who will now be a nice depth player. Desmond Bishop and Abdul Hodge are here at depth as well.

No real need here

CB- Al Harris and Charles Woodson while aging, are still extremely solid if not more. Williams and Blackmon look like solid depth players, but I'm not sold on either of them to be able to step in place of Woody or Harris. We did have a need here, but I think we addressed that need with Lee, who fits into our system perfectly.

Draft need filled.

Safties- Atari Bigby over the second half of the season was an absolute monster. He fixed his mental breakdowns on stupid penalties and started making big plays. I love Bigby. Nick Collins is still inconsistant, but still solid and young. I don't think there was anyone available that could come in and take over.

While we might not have a lot of top line players, we have a ton of solid players that would be hard for any rookie to come in here and supplant. We can talk about how the Cowboys filled however many spots in the draft to start or whatever, but I just don't buy into any rookie around the Packers pick coming in and taking on a huge role. Ted will give these guys time to develop and take the field when it's there time.

Edit to add TE's to the list.

Sitton made a combined 39 starts at three different offensive line positions for the Knights. Sitton said the Packers want him to play guard and center.

Sounds about right... I can see Cooledge and Barbre as the eventual replacment at tackle and Coston with Spitz/Moll as guards. Sitton gives us a utility lineman to back up Wells and in case of an injury at guard. We've got depth here, which is always a good thing

Nice way for TT to get a head start on FA's?? Draft them in the 7th versus compete with other teams for their services??

Say what you will, but Ted Thompson is an elite GM. How many GM's could take a 4-12 team then in the next year double the win total, the year after that go 14-4 in the NFC championship game? The guy drafts well and makes great hires.
