muck
I'm coughing. I'm told to take an 'expectorant'. So, I take this stuff expecting to cough up a green/brown nugget the size of a silver dollar? ...seriously, how did this get such an innocuous sounding name...expectorant. cre8tiff
meh Truthfully I was going to go this week but I found a way to stay busy and forgot about it. There are a lot of things it could be from serious to merely stress-induced. I myself developed an intolerance to coffee and high-acid things like soda. Years of being a Mountain Dew addict KOed me. That's what turned out to be my "frog in the throat". Cut way back on caffeine and citric acid, no problem.
Chargerz
Here you go. Most of the liquified mucous gets swallowed and never leaves your body. The rest you bring up and spit out. The net result is a clearing of the offending mucous from your brochial tubes.

Big John
But why are they called expectorants? How about "phlegm removers" or "lung huckers"? http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=24354 From the Latin expectorare, to expel from the chest, from ex-, out of + pectus, chest.
