JUNE 9--A telephone prankster posing as a sprinkler company employee caused havoc Saturday morning at an Arkansas Holiday Inn when he convinced an employee to set off the hotel's fire alarm, smash windows, shut down electricity, and break a sprinkler head that flooded the building lobby.

that chick is dumb even by arkansas holiday inn employee standards.

even dumber may be the "incident commander" guy who came to her aid.

the Q&A when the police detectives got there:

Q: sir, are you an actual trained "incident commander"? :D

A: well, no....but I did stay at a holiday inn last night...

Someone is going to be paying big time.
You and I will. Well, if we visit the hotel. Either Holiday Inn (or the franchisee) pays for it directly or their insurance covers the repair bill. Ultimately the room bill gets raised a dollar or two to cover the costs of the repairs or the increased insurance premium.

one of yours?

nope...but I feel for the owner who has to deal with it, the embarrassed employee, the guests who were disturbed, the lost business this hotel will incur while remediations are made...the employees who will be laid off for a period of time while the hotel is under repair. The list goes on and on.

Again, why is this funny?

If it was that easy to raise room rates "a dollar or two" they would have already done that already.
