posty
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/07...t-hood-victims/ The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News. Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura secretly visited Fort Hood last night and spent "considerable time" consoling those who were wounded in Thursday's shooting spree, Fox News has learned. The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News. The couple was described as "deeply concerned" about military families on Fort Hood after Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire on soldiers and civilians, killing 13 and wounding 38. The Bushes, who have a 1,600-acre property known as Prairie Chapel Ranch less than 30 miles from Fort Hood in central Texas, spent between one and two hours visiting the wounded and their families. Perchoutofwater
although i always love the, 'they didnt want any press' line after the fact. then why are we hearing about it?? If I had to guess, one of the victims or their family members called someone and said "you'll never guess who a saw today" and the media eventually picked up on it. As hot of a topic as Ft. Hood is right now, you have to believe they would have been covered at least by Fox while they were there had they not tried to make an effort to go unnoticed. After the fact, it always gets out. But at least they had a sincere moment away from cameras during the visit. Classy.
redrumjuice
FORT HOOD, Texas -Three young soldiers were fatally shot while protecting civilian nurses hiding underneath a desk during last year's shooting rampage at Fort Hood, according to testimony at a military hearing Tuesday. "All three of these kids just stood their ground. They didn't flinch. They weren't afraid of him," Theodore Coukoulis told the Article 32 hearing. "All three looked directly at the shooter. They were looking at death and they knew it." http://www.aolnews.com/story/nurse-3-soldi...ing-fort/797533
