Pope Flick
It also omitted all the tax benefits that the currently proposed budget is offering to give businesses and business owners. But I doubt any of our deficit hawks around here will complain when they receive the benefit of those spiffs. I doubt any of our residents jokers see the irony in saying stuff like "freedom of speech is dead" while stating the president shouldn't have criticized the Supreme Court, because that's NEVER been done before. Duchess Jack
I think that we should come up with a list of publications on the left and right that should not be linked for info because the publication appears to be so biased that the linked info will be overlooked or not taken as creidble. If something has truth to it - then it should be able to be found in a more moderate publication. I think that this would help us moving forward. Never mind the fact that Reuters (or whom ever), having been given the freedom of speech by the SCOTUS, now has the freedom to put up or take down whatever article they want for whatever reason they want. The president basically demeaned the court because he didn't want them to uphold free speech. I'd also note that free speech does not apply to the military and as commander in chief, by extension is doesn't necessarily apply to the president. When has a sitting president beside FDR and Lincoln both of whom it is pretty well acknowledged pissed all over the courts been critical of a court decision in public? Perchoutofwater
Was that a SOTU? He was asked a direct question and gave a direct answer. He also says that while he disagrees with it, he stands by the court's decision. There is difference there, at least to me.
bushwacked
It's pretty obvious that Perch is all for free speech as long as it's someone he likes saying something he likes. If not, then it's a threat to free speech.

Newsflash sparky: presidents disagree with SCOTUS decisions all the time and will propose legislation designed to go back after that decision.
