Puddy
I have the entire series of Nip/Tuck in my queue based on a suggestion. Is that a good thing I also added this movie. I'm not much of a foreign film fan but this looked good to me. City of God

geeteebee
I use blockbuster instead of netflix because there isn't a markup for blue ray. We are in the middle of the first season of Dexter and really like it.
Ursa Majoris
I have 68 DVDs in my queue, mostly TV. I used Menudo's review thread and my own memory to line up a bunch of movies from the past 3-4 years that I never bothered watching. I get all enthusiastic about a trailer on TV, never go to movies because I'd get in a fight with some idiot yapping into a cellphone, then forget about the movie long before it comes to DVD. Repeat with new TV trailer.
Gopher
In my opinion, there are more solid TV shows worth watching, than there are movies. Tons of good shows on HBO... I'm sure I'm missing a few, but just google "HBO Series" and you can see everything that has aired over the years. Here are the ones that come to mind (my personal favorites in bold): Sopranos True Blood Band of Brothers Big Love Six Feet Under Rome Curb Your Enthusiasm Entourage Deadwood The Wire Oz Showtime has a few as well: Dexter Brotherhood The Tudors Weeds FX: Rescue Me Sons of Anarchy Over There Nip/Tuck It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Others that I would highly recommend would include Mad Men and Breaking Bad on AMC, as well as Friday Night Lights. If you're looking more along the lines of strictly movies, just do a Netflix search... I believe you can filter movies by category. Usually, the movies rated 4/5 stars (or higher) are pretty safe bets, as long as it's in a category that interests you. The list that SheikYerbuti provided is also a great place to start, if you're looking for true classics, no matter how old.
