Illinois in big trouble

So many states are facing similar budget crises... there is a solution... cut/slash all spending.

And as you previously posted in a different thread, New Jersey should be looked upon as an example. Oddly, as everyone on the outside is giving Christie credit; he remains a polarizing figure in the state himself. Everyone wants a balanced budget, but no one wants their stuff cut. So, it's never as easy as it should be.

It's going to be painful in any case, might as well start now before it gets any worse...

Like others have mentioned on these boards, running a nation, state or municipality should be little different than running a successful financial household. Lean times suck, it hurts - make the necessary cuts and work for a better day. Once things get better, remember those lean times and save for the next rainy day.

Which is why Meg Whitman will be the next Governor of California. Although I don't agree with some of her positions (Illegal Immigration,Birth Control come to mind), she is exactly what this state needs. A business orientated leader to get us back into shape.

GMOZ!

My comment was only part sarcasm, btu there is a real question in there too. Much of this nation is looking to Obama to right the ecomony and work on balancing the budget. Is there any evidence to suggest he has experience in doing anything like this or has ties to people who do?

Yep. "Unnecessary entitlements" are what OTHER people get. What YOU get is an entirely different matter.....
