SayItAintSoJoe
the people apparently have too much power? http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/nancy-...-do_557307.html I take her words to mean this..... Don't just sit back and think that because you belong to one party or another that your party is always going to field a candidate whose values are in line with yours. If you’re a republican you’d better take a close look at the candidate that your party is putting up for election because the divide between the moderate republicans and those to the extreme right is bigger than ever. So could she have put it better? Sure. Is it a gaffe? Sure.
gbpfan1231
My first thought that she was trying to mean that you should not make decisions based on trying to win the next election - make decisions that are right for the people. Just my 2 cents (that I will end up paying anyway )
Savage Beatings
She is saying that Republicans need to take back the party, so that the GOP so closely resembles the Democrat Party that there will no longer be such mean-spirited debate going on. She's half right. The Republicans do indeed need to take back the party, but not the weak centrist compromising jelly-fish that she is talking about. The conservatives are the ones that need to take back the party, so that there is indeed an alternative to ever rising spending, debt and taxes. Clubfoothead
Are you asking why we have a representative democracy instead of direct democracy?
Duchess Jack
...and why should anybody feel as if they need to defend something Nancy Pelosi said?
Savage Beatings
...and why should anybody feel as if they need to defend something Nancy Pelosi said? Not to mention that I don't think there is a high risk of Republicans actually taking her advice on how to better the GOP. :l)
WashingtonD
...and why should anybody feel as if they need to defend something Nancy Pelosi said? This I mean seriously, does anyone support the drivel that comes out of her mouth on a regular basis? I consider myself a democrat and much of what and how Pelosi expresses herself is ludicrous to me.
borge007
Not to mention that I don't think there is a high risk of Republicans actually taking her advice on how to better the GOP. :l) Yer right. They should be listening to Bachman, Palin, Trump, Pawlenty, etc. etc. etc.
