Just went over the pp's in 20 minutes and here are a few notes off the top of my head. I never even heard of about 18 of these horses. #1 Archacharch - Jon Court (I like), did well at Oaklawn. 10-1 may go up quite a bit b/c of Court and Fires. #8 Dialed In - 2 100+ beyers, lightly raced, Zito. 4-1 (gotta go up for me) #9 Derby Kitten - Ken and Sarah Ramsey, 1st time Castellano, comes from last ( I'm a sucker for that) 30-1 ML #12 Santiva - lost as fave last race after a tough trip (sucker for bad trips next time out too) , Bridgmohan underrated IMO, has won at Churchill 30-1ML #13 Mucho Macho Man - classy, been bet hard, Rajiv, 3 real nice works 12-1 might go up with Rajiv and Ritvo. CONTENDER with a big chance #15 Midnight Interlude - Baffert, lightly raced, 10-1 could go down with Baffert. Probably a bet against for me #17 Soldat - Alan Garcia, 2 100+ beyers, beaten fave last time, 4 top 2's in 5 graded stakes, CONTENDER with a big chance IMO #18 Uncle Mo - probably favorite? probably deserves it.I don't know. Hope he gets hammered at windows and does'nt run a jump. I can't bet him after he quit in the Wood and I hate speed horses... #19 Nehro - 1 win , Beyers progressing, interested, don't think I can take 6-1 on a Derby horse that has only won a maiden race #20 Watch Me Go - LOVE Kathleen O'Connell. surprised Bejarano is riding . won in Tampa at 43-1 then beat 17 lengths @ Hawthorne. Probably does'nt have a snowball's chance in hell but I'll have a few dollars on him at 80-1 and I hope he wins for O'Connell. I've won as much money betting her horses over the years as I have off any trainer. Good luck everyone, have a great trip Gil. gilthorp Posted May 8, 2011 Author Share Posted May 8, 2011 Sounds like Archarcharch has a fracture, but it's not even career ending. Animal Kingdom was not a total surprise, only because there were so many problems with so many others in the race. Since I liked Nehro as much as I did, it was another successful Derby race for me.
