muck
My daughter is a sophomore film student at SMU. This summer, she is interning at the American Film Institute in LA and worked the AFI Lifetime Achievement awards for Morgan Freeman this weekend. She escorted Clint to his seat Saturday night and said she got butterflies just being around him. She's not the starstruck type, so he must really cut an imposing figure. She sent pics and texts all weekend about meeting Spike Lee, Helen Mirren, etc. Pics with her and Spielberg, Matthew McConnaughy, Matthew Broderick. Sounds like she is having a good time. Well, let's just hope that McChonnaughy (et.al.) aren't having a good time with your daughter, too.

darin3
Clint Eastwood is by far my favorite actor. John Wayne is before my time and I've only seen a handful of his movies. Both are legends but I went with Eastwood. This, and I was driving by Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA, at just around the time where John Wayne passed away. matt770
Watched Fistful of Dollars last night, pretty cool to see Clint as a young actor giving the icy stares that became his trademark. He owes a HUGH debt to Sergio Leone for those close-up shots. From there he went on to the Dirty Harry movies, pretty much the same character in a modern setting. And those movies ripped off Leone's close-up stare shots of Clint. If you think about it, that cemented him as an icon...just that badass look, the close-up, and the bad guys pissing their pants. Makes me want to Netflix some Dirty Harry movies, it's been years since I watched them.

Furd
Miller: John Wayne was a fag. All: The hell he was! Miller: He was, too, you boys. I installed two-way mirrors in his pad in Brentwood, and he come to the door in a dress. Plettschner: Ah, you're f*cking nuts. Oly: That doesn't mean he was a homo, Miller. Lotta straight guys like to watch their buddies f*ck. I know I do.
