geeteebee
I have a alarm clock/hidden camera in my office that is connected to my computer monitor via a composite video /RCA jack cable. I have just gotten a new monitor that does not have an RCA jack. It only has hdmi or vga so I need to buy a new cable. The composite video out of my clock is just a single jack but all of the cables I've seen have multiple connectors. Can I buy a cable that has a composite video cable connector on one end and an hdmi or vga connector on the other?
The Irish Doggy
Don't know. My suggestion: try monoprice.com, cablestogo.com, or radio shack.
delusions of grandeur
Just check amazon, but I wouldn't trust the composite to HDMI (which is largely pointless anyway to convert a SD signal to an HD cord). Just search there for "composite to vga" and there look to be a number of cheap cords and box converters. I'd just say look at the reviews and find the cheapest or best one you think will work.... Or if you'd rather go for quality over affordability, I'm sure Radio Shack or someone has a nicer one for more.

MrTed46
Look for the VGA route rather than the HDMI I know there are alot of BNC to VGA convertors You can use a BNC to RCA adaptor http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Console-Co...4518&sr=1-4 this should work Edited September 21, 2011 by MrTed46

geeteebee
Thanks, guys, that helps. And for those who are curious, I've had thefts in my office and building security has said that unless there is video proof of it happening, they can't do much about it. Avernus
it doesn't even have component input?....
Pope Flick
How does this ting work? Why can't you connect it via USB and watch video files from your computer using the monitor? Or does it capture & create files in the clock that can only be viewed w/ a built in composite video out...? Is this thing 20 years old? I'm asking with a webcam style piece of hardware in mind... geeteebee
This ting records video on an sd card that I can read in my laptop, wthout problem. Unfortunately, to set up the camera and make changes to the settings (motion sensing, record time, etc.) it has to be hooked up to a monitor. Codwagon
I just might be able to help you, check out my e-bay listings. Got a CPU monitor (that accepts RCA!) and a very nicely framed TCU diploma up for bid. Edited September 22, 2011 by Codwagon
