RBC the death of fantasy football

I think just the opposite. Draft day is now interesting, it's no longer drafting RB-RB-RB and picking up RB's at the drop of a hat. You're not riding Priest and Portis to an uncontested trophy now. PPR has helped as have flex positions, but I love the fact that there are now multiple ways to win a FF game. It makes team management much more interesting and highly rewards good decisions while punishing bad ones. Ridley yesterday was a strong nugget, Torrey Smith last week absolutely won people games.

I think that by changing leagues to allow for more flexing of positions will help keep the RBBC situation manageable. If your league is a mandatory start 2RB then it can get tough. Although everyone is in the same boat, it sucks having to start someone you know is not going to do well. I changed mine a while back for 1 manadatory RB and you could go 3WR in a run and shoot type offense. I think that leagues should change with the changing times. If I had to start 2 RB this year I would be in huge trouble. Been in a run and shoot since I lost J Charles.

It's just the evolution of the NFL and FF in general. I think it's a good thing. It also makes the few bell cows left even more valuable.

+ a gazillion.

In both my locals, owners were trying to be savvy late int he first round by going WR. And it might yet work out. But in both of them, I was able to get Forte mid-second round, and he has been fantasy gold when paired with McFadden in one league, and Rice in another. Both RBs in both leagues basically throw-back studs, with very little RBBC to worry about (except for McFadden's GL vulture).

Paired with Rodgers at QB in both leagues, and stable but not stud WRs (Moore, Bryant, Maclin, Wallace, etc), I am 4-0 in one, 3-1 in another. Getting 20+ points per week, every week, from two RB positions is a solid base upon which to build.

Great points Lippy...Leagues should change as fantasy changes, my league also allows for 1 RB to 3 WR if so choose. Sort of the run & shoot.

Is this a 10 team or 12 team league?

I agree completely. I love it when there is more than one way to win, and to see different peoples' strategies. That's why I love IDP so much. One guy in my league is currently undefeated and his first and second round draft picks were linebackers. I love it.

Both 10-teamers, I drafted 1.04 in one and took Rice, 1.07 in another and got McFadden. I had Forte targeted in all leagues as one of the few RBs getting 80+% of the carries, a solid handful of receptions...he was there on the return in both leagues, and it wasn't a hugh surprise, knowing many drafting after me would go WR/WR, WR/QB, or at worst, WR/RB.

We'll have to see what impact Marion Barber has going forward.....
