MTSuper7
I am thinking about Lance Moore as a boom or bust play should Graham sit. He wasn't very involved early on before he got hurt, but he has been a red zone threat in the past, and since his injury was to his wrist/hand, he has been able to stay in playing shape this whole time. I don't really hear any buzz about Moore because of his slow start and subsequent injury, but I think he is being overlooked as a possible high upside fill in should Jimmy Graham not play. He's not a guy I would play if I wanted a high floor, because a 2-21 line is very realistic. But nobody would be terribly surprised by a 5-57-2 line either considering his history (and again, if Graham doesn't play - and maybe even if Graham does play but more sparingly or as a decoy). Anyone else think Moore might have a small window for bye week production?
Fedaiken
I picked him up and may be starting him over Mike Williams, but I don't have much of a choice as it stands
wpayers
Sure as an NO WR he has tantalizing upside but it's so hard to predict. I was bullish on Moore in each of the past two preseasons but was always disappointed. He'll get his 100/1 games but when? If available I'd go with Kenny Stills instead. BA Baracus
I am really hoping that the Saints took advantage of their bye week and used hypnotherapy to subconsciously remind Brees that he has WR's to throw to and not just Jimmy Graham and the RB's. darin3
I suspect Graham will sit Sunday. Bump Sproles and oui oui Pierre Thomas up a whole heck of a lot especially considering this matchup.

I play our points leader this week and he's got Graham. He also has Forte and Rivers on Bye. Yippie!

The Saints will have no problem shellacking (sp?) the Bills so why risk further injury to your best offensive threat? Give him a full 2 weeks off and come back guns blazing against Da Jets. I totally agree. The Saints don't need Graham to beat the Bills. I doubt he plays this week.
Tripleshot
Unless Moore is 6'6" and matches up against LBs, Brees will still only throw to whatever backup TE plays and his RBs.

Dangerous assumptions for a team coming off of a bye. Ben Watson is a hasbeen. I like the WRs chances of doing something this weekend. Hopefully Moore finds the end zone. Week 6 target stats against the Patriots when Graham got hurt: RBs - 15 TEs - 10 WRs - 11(over different 4 WRs) Brees barely targeted Moore before Graham was out, what makes you think he's automatically going Moore's way now if Graham sits? If the status quo continues, how many of those 11 WR targets do you think Moore is going to get? I know you need someone to replace Graham's numbers this weekend, but it sounds like you're trying to talk yourself into believing it's Moore. Sometimes lightning strikes, but it's rare and in this case, against the odds. Edited October 24, 2013 by Tripleshot

And in his 3 weeks played, has a grand total of 4 catches for 44 yards. Moore was once a nifty little flex/WR3 but keep this in mind... this was Graham/Brees' first off-season to really work with each other. Graham is the guy in that offense. If it's not him, it's Sproles on a little flare out. If not them, it's Colston. Period. Those thinking Moore will miraculously return to pre-2013 form are kidding themselves. The Saints could beat the Bills with their left arms tied behind their backs. Brees will dump off to Watson, Colston, Sproles and Thomas all game and maybe take some downfield shots with Stills. MTSuper7
Never said I think Moore is going to go off. I fully realize he is a decent bet to put up a dud. But Graham hasn't practiced at all since getting hurt, so the game plan this weekend could involve more WR action in theory. So my point is that he seems like an upside bye week guy that you can nab off the ww in many leagues right now. Some would say he's a desperation play. I think he's a touch better than that and a viable risk if you are looking for a swing for the fences.
Tripleshot
There is some validity to your point. Moore seems to have a small handful of games every year where he looks really good. Then he gets hurt or has a couple duds in a row and there's just never any consistency. I took some late round flyers on him this year thinking he had a great oppotunity to step up, but when he didn't, and Brees target distribution became obvious, I dropped him all leagues. Still, he does have the potential to put up a nice, 2 TD game here and there, you just never know when it's going to happen.
BA Baracus
This could be Colston's chance for a hugh week. I really hope so because he has been an anchor around my neck so far this season. I have the same hunch.
WildTurkey
i think Ben Watson gets a few more looks and may even score. I don't see Graham's absence leading to more for Moore.
Brentastic
Sure as an NO WR he has tantalizing upside but it's so hard to predict. I was bullish on Moore in each of the past two preseasons but was always disappointed. He'll get his 100/1 games but when? If available I'd go with Kenny Stills instead. You'd go with the rookie WR who has no proven track record and no consistency over the guy who has proven to be a favorite target of Brees for several years? You can't be very good at this hobby. Brentastic
I think Colston has a very good chance to finally have a big game this week. If anyone has ever been "due", it's Colston. If not him, I think Lance Moore will have a big game. This is all assuming Jimmy sits of course. Sproles will get his 5-7 catches regardless. But as far as who benefits if Graham sits, I say Colston then Moore in that order of probability. Just to respond to those knocking Moore. Moore has secretly been a favorite target of Brees for the last few years. He always gets hurt and sits a few games though. Just because he was barely used in weeks 1 and 2, doesn't mean squat. I believe he was hurt during game 3 and has been out since. Moore fills that slot role which runs similar routes to the TE. He's a middle-of-the-field catcher, similar to Graham, which is also the easiest throw to make for a QB. That's why the elite QBs like Peyton, Brady and Brees always have success with TEs and slot WRs, because it's the easy throw and if it's open, they're throwing there all day without hesitation. MTSuper7
Looks like the gamble on Moore has paid off despite Graham giving it a go. One has to wonder if Colston is playing hurt or maybe he has just plain lost a step. The drop off the cliff is staggering for him. Looks like either Stills or Moore would have worked out today.
