League_Champion Posted July 29, 2022 Share Posted July 29, 2022 (edited) This deal makes zero sense for a team that's in a "rebuild", especially since it's a rather short deal and they have no QB. Not to mention that this years draft was one of the deepest WR drafts ever. It's a total head scratcher. They should of maximized his value as well and traded him the day Russ left town. It definitely makes you wonder, otherwise it's a useless signing. If he was a WR2 with a Hall Of Fame QB like Russ then what is he with these scrubs or a rookie for that matter? I suppose when AJ Brown went for a mid 1st and 4th...Seattle decided Metcalf himself was better value than trade capital. Metcalf is tied up for 4 more seasons. They certainly have a ton of cap space and likely target a franchise QB in the next draft. That would be 3 seasons for the QB/WR1 hookup and also allows the rookie to come into a situation with talent.
