Steelers - Bills Poem

From Buffalo, it’s the Steelers against the “league’s hottest team”,

I’m not a math magician, but isn’t 6 wins in a row less than 14 ;

But the Bills were listed as 8 point favories, as we all know;

And their fans were talking like the Steelers might as well not even show;

After the first three, plays, Gardocki came out to punt away the ball,

I really wasn’t sure, but the Steelers DO have a punter after all;

But here is Gardocki and he booms one away,

And Foote recovers a fumble to the Bills fans dismay;

The Steelers drive stalled, but they got three on the board,

But an Antwaan Randle-El fumble, got the Bills fans’ faith restored;

To the Steelers the game was for momentum, to the Bills it was for more,

And the crowd screamed with joy, as Willis Magahee ran in for the score;

The Bills had taken the lead, and the Steelers were playing their subs,

The Bills were envisioning playoffs, as they would no doubt beat these scrubs;

But as has been the case all season, the backups were playing well,

And Tommy Maddox capped a drive with a TD to Randle-El;

But the Bills fans weren’t worried, as they could not lose to this backup crew,

Then Larry Foote slipped into coverage and picked off the pass from Drew;

But the Buffalo defense stood tough and tried to minimize their bleed,

As Steelers had to settle for another field goal from Jeff Reed;

For the rest of the half, the D’s stood tall, time and time again,

And after trading field goals, the half ended Steeler 16, Bills 10;

But the Bills momentum changed in the second half, rather quick,

As Clements ended in the endzone after returning the Maddox pick;

Buffalo was in the lead, and had to feel they were there to stay,

This team wouldn’t lose to backups, there simply was no way;

The Steelers have many reasons as the wins continue to accrue,

Lindell misses a field goal, and Reed kicks another straight through;

The Steelers were back in the lead, but only up by two,

But through the line came Cochlough, who layed the hammer down on Drew;

Drew is nailed and knocked down, and out of his hand there was a fumble,

And it was picked up by James Harrison and to the endzone he did rumble;

As the game finally ended, to Bills fans the results must really sting,

The “hottest team in football” lost to the Steelers second and third string;

But there is no shame in losing to the Steelers, 14 others have done so before,

Last week it was the Ravens, this week the Bills were shown the door;

But now for the Steelers, the real season begins,

I can’t wait to write my poems, after these next three Pittsburgh wins;

Now we’ve got a week off, a week of rest and healing for some,

As the Steelers continue on their quest to get that one for the thumb;

The Steelers finish 15 and one, and that has brought much joy,

But winning these last three games, will be a great big triple yoi;

So make sure those at the stadium, hoot and hollar, yell and howl,

And lets all get back to waving that wonderful terrible towel;

There's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
