Abraham's agents, Tony Agnone and Rich Rosa, told the New York Daily News that the 26-year-old Abraham, the Jets' franchise player, might not participate in the offseason program or report to training camp unless he gets a long-term deal. "Obviously, he's looking for a commitment and stability," Agnone told the Daily News. "At first, he was okay with the franchise tag, but he was kind of hoping it would lead to a long-term deal." Abraham, who rejected the Jets' proposed long-term deal, is scheduled to earn $6.7 million in 2005. He is believed to be seeking a deal that would top Jevon Kearse's eight-year, $66 million contract with the Eagles that included $16 million in guarantees, according to the Daily News. WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Orlando Pace Rams Texans Rams Mar. 16 - A trip to the Houston might be the catalyst in swaying left tackle Orlando Pace to remain with the Rams, ESPN.com's John Clayton reports. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Pace is expected to sign a seven-year, $52.8 million contract that includes an $18 million signing bonus. The Rams have until Wednesday to finalize a new contract with Pace, a franchise player, before a four-month negotiating blackout period begins. WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Ty Law Patriots Steelers Chiefs Jets Browns Raiders Mar. 16 - The Chiefs will wait to see how Ty Law's surgically repaired foot mends before making the four-time Pro Bowl cornerback a contract offer, The Kansas City Star reports. Law wore a protective walking boot on his left foot Tuesday while in Kansas City. "He has to keep progressing medically," coach Dick Vermeil told The Star. "He says he's going to be out of the boot in two weeks. As you noticed, he has a bounce to his step. It's not bothering him at all. That's all positive." Law's next stop was Miami to continue a rehab program that includes running in a pool and riding an exercise bike. WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Courtney Brown Redskins Broncos Seahawks Buccaneers Mar. 16 - Redskins coach Joe Gibbs flew to Cleveland with defensive line coach Greg Blache and had dinner with Courtney Brown and Brown's wife on Monday night, The Associated Press reports. Brown is scheduled to travel to Redskins Park on Thursday, following a visit with the Broncos. Brown, the first overall choice in the 2000 draft, was cut by Cleveland because he would not renegotiate his contract. He would have been due a $2.5 million roster bonus Tuesday. Although Brown is also being pursued by Denver, Seattle and Tampa Bay, the Redskins are considered the favorites to sign the No. 1 overall pick in the 2000 draft. WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Travis Taylor Ravens Vikings Seahawks Mar. 16 - The Vikings on Tuesday afternoon reached a contract agreement with wide receiver Travis Taylor, a move that essentially ends any lingering interest in Plaxico Burress and probably means that Minnesota will not trade for Redskins WR Rod Gardner, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports. A five-year veteran and former Ravens first-round draft choice, Taylor likely will fill the No. 3 wideout spot, behind starters Nate Burleson and Marcus Robinson. Contract details were not immediately available. WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Quincy Carter Buccaneers Mar. 16 - Still looking to sign a veteran backup quarterback, Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden is considering Quincy Carter, reports the St. Petersburg Times. The troubled Carter, who played with the Jets last season after being cut by the Cowboys for reported substance abuse issues, is expected to visit with team officials today. "Here's a guy who has some well-documented history in the league as a player, and he's had some off-the-field problems," Gruden told the newspaper. "But we have an interesting environment here for a quarterback with [new quarterbacks coach] Paul Hackett, I have coached the quarterbacks and Doug Williams is here. ... You want to bring in the best players available and he's clearly, in my opinion, one of the best players available at that position." WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Carlos Hall Titans Chiefs Mar. 16 - Titans defensive end Carlos Hall, a restricted free agent, visited the Chiefs on March 15. If the Chiefs don't make an offer this week, Hall has other options he will explore. "We'll see where things go from here," Hall's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told The Tennessean. "'We have been talking to several other teams, but I really don't want to identify them. I can't give you any more details than that right now." The Titans would have the right to match any offer from another team. If it chooses not to match, Tennessee will be awarded a seventh-round draft pick as compensation for Hall. WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Roberto Garza Packers Mar. 16 - The Packers, who have lost both starting guards to free agency, met with free agent Roberto Garza on March 14. The Packers are believed to be Garza's top choice, but several teams have expressed interest in the former Falcon, reports the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "I'm hopeful, I believe that with Green Bay losing their starting two guards, Roberto would make an immediate impact," Jack Scharf, one of Garza's agents, told the newspaper. "It's not going to be the highest bidder; it's going to be the team that he really wants to play for the most," his agent, Harold Lewis, told The Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "When you do it this way, you're doing it for the right reasons." Hartwell has already visited Kansas City, Arizona and Atlanta. The Dolphins are also believed to be interested. According to paper, Rosenhaus plans to discuss Burress with Miami coach Nick Saban at the owners' meetings this week in Hawaii. Burress has visited the Giants and Vikings, and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune indicated Burress was considering a visit to Philadelphia and might now be looking for the best one-year offer available with plans to enter the free-agent market again next year. The Vikings might consider signing him to a one-year contract. Thursday, the Giants withdrew their offer, which has been reported as six years and $24 million, with an $8 million signing bonus. The 27-year-old wide receiver is believed to be seeking a contract similar to the six-year, $30 million contract and the $12 million signing bonus Muhsin Muhammad got from the Bears. WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Tebucky Jones Saints Dolphins Mar. 15 - The Saints avoided paying Tebucky Jones a $400,000 roster bonus by releasing the safety on Tuesday. Outshined
Abraham is now the Jets' franchise player. If he signs with another team, don't the Jets get a couple draft picks? Plus the other team has to give Abraham the big money he is looking for? The Vikes need a pass russhing DE, but I don't think they can afford Abraham. Bengal Mania
WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY Tony Williams Broncos Bengals Saints Mar. 15 - Courtney Brown isn't the only defensive end the Broncos are pursuing. He's considering the cheap-shot team that ended his season. For what, to be a "practice dummy" for the OL to fine-tune their cut-blocking techniques? Rovers
The latest rumors on NY sports radio talk is that Abraham might get traded to Minnesota or Dallas, two teams with two first round draft picks this year. Remember, it was Parcells who drafted him. The Terrell rumours have gotten quiet.... the Giants may still go back to Burress, the thinking being a change in agents will help resolve some testy negotiotions between Burress' last agent and the Giants front office. I pray the Denver matches the offer only if it's worth less than the cost of a box of juju beans!!

Teams are hesitant to give up 1 first rounder for James and Alexander. He probably will hold out and be a pain in the a$$. He could be tagged again next year and go throught the whole process again. There arent that many DE's who can pressure a QB like Abraham can laying around. He says he wants out, at least that is what his agent hinted at. He wants a long term deal. if not with the Jets, elsewhere.
