Duchess Jack
Eagles WR Freddie Mitchell quoted in the Gloucester (Mass.) Daily Times about his frustration over the fact that few teammates backed him up when he made comments challenging the Patriots’ secondary prior to Super Bowl XXXIX: “Maybe in another program I would have had (teammates) say, ‘Fred’s right. I’m going at them. I back him up 100 percent, because I’m on the battlefield with him.’ But I didn’t have that. The program they have here and the kind of people they recruit with the Eagles are laid back. I could have sworn we were playing tennis. They didn’t back me up because they were scared. That’s what (irritated) me off the most. I sensed people were scared of the Patriots. And me? I fear no team. I fear nobody. I’ll catch balls over the middle.”

budlitebrad
His hair-do alone was reason enough for his team not to support him.

NSab
Ike Reese said that the team would have had his back, but Freddie is not a team guy. He is an Individual, not a team mate. Right now who even cares what Freddie says.

Rovers
When Freddie said he would catch balls over the middle, did anyone ask him when ? Oh, right, it's mini camp, no hitting. My bad.
