Jumpin Johnies
In the 5th round the Buffaloe Bills selected Brad Butler, a Tackle from UVA. As most of the folks on this site already know Brad Butler is a friend of mine. I talked to him on Saturday and told him I thought he was going to the Redskins in the 5th or 6th. He told me that the Skins were one of the teams that was in constant contact with him. I was happy to see him go early in the 5th but dissapointed that the Panthers didn't get him. The Seattle Seahawks selected my wife's cousin(through marriage) in the 7th round. He's an All American Punter from Wake Forest named Ryan Plackemeir and he's a good all around kid. He had told family members that he was expecting to get drafted by either the Seahawks, Redskins or Ravens. The Seahawks had told him that they were going to take him in the 7th if he were still there and they lived up to their word. It was fun getting a behind the scenes view of the draft from these two and I look forward to hearing some details about what it's like to be in the league. Congrats once to the Bills and Seahawks for getting two fine young football players.

VikesGuy
Isn't he the guy that cheap shotted someone? Robert Smith called him a coward this weekend...  1446460[/snapback]      Here is the story that Smith was talking about.  http://scoreboards.aol.com/football/ncaaf1.../team_news.aspx  I am sure Smith saw the game/play as well, right. So calling him a coward was pretty weak in my opnion. The only reason it went as far as it did was becuase of the retaliations that went on afterwards. It is easy to make comments after the fact, when you don't see the play in full speed.

He made one mistake in the heat of battle, everything else that he's done shows he's a great guy. I was honored when he asked if I'd be willing to defend him publicly in the newspaper article. You'll see my name towards the end.I'll never defend Marcus Vick, although he will make one hell of a WR in the NFL.

He's a good guy, but i didnt like the cheap shot on the BC player this year. But i'll always support players from VA! Would of like it better if the 'skins woulda drafted him. MikeTice
This guy is your buddy, so you will defend him til you are blue in the face, but the fact remains he is a cheap shot artist, and NOT a good, clean player. The fact that he fell to the 5th round and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills who are being universally called out as to having the worst draft in the league. Your buddy is a camp body at best who better be able to play special teams, because he isn't a "fine young football player" Â You on the other hand deserve kudos for standing by your buddy even though he is a proven cheap shot artist. It is always good to know who your friends are.

The Redskins were expected to take him in the 5th or 6th and even had his profile on their website as a potential pick. This is where he was expected to be picked and this is one of the Bills problem areas. They intend to play him as he was the only tackle that they picked. The scouts say that he plays with a mean streak. a lot of teams like that. Jake Grove is a high school friend of my brother and his wife(she works with Tru Soldja, he can verify this), he plays with a mean streak as well. I guess it's a Lynchburg thing.
