Avernus
Eagles | Westbrook could line up at wide receiver moreFri, 30 Jun 2006 18:28:10 -0700 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook could line up at wide receiver more than he has in previous seasons due to the lack of proven wide receivers on the team and the presence of RB Ryan Moats. Westbrook is expected to catch a sizable number of passes and become more of a multi-dimensional weapon for the 2006 season. honestly...as I've said before...Westy should crack top 10's in PPR leagues and Moats should be one of the top handcuffs out there...period... Doc Holliday
honestly...as I've said before...Westy should crack top 10's in PPR leagues and Moats should be one of the top handcuffs out there...period... I think if you took away Westbrooks injury problems he would be the undisputed number 4 pick. I don't blame noone for taking him with a top 10 pick. it would just suck to take him with your top 10 pick and then still have to use a middle round pick(at least) to grab Moats. That's what everyone said about Priest and LJ last season and it worked out pretty well for those grabbing LJ in the 3rd or 4th. Of course Philly doesn't really compare to KC... Seahawks21
I really don't get it. Don't you bring him out of the backfield to get a linebacker or safety on him? If you simply line him up at WR, he's gonna have a corner, which kind of takes away his quickness advantage I would think. He's just about my favorite player to watch, but I think this is not taking advantage of his biggest asset.
cliaz
You beat me to this. I think with Westbrook lining up in the slot his value in a points-per-reception league just went up 10%. Personally I think the season is gonna shake out with moats doing a lot of the rushing and westbrook becoming more and more involved in the passing game which in turn would reduce his injury problems a tad. But with a safety covering him instead of the linebackers he might see a slight decrease in his recptions. Just my opinion though. Either way, he is still going to be a very useful #2 back for a team with border line #1 stats by the end of the season.
Gros Membres!
any word on how his rehab is going? Picking 12th (in a 12 team re-draft) and I am thinking he will probably be one of the better RBs still on the board. I just don't know much about the injury or what has been going on with him this off-season. Any homers out there? Edited July 1, 2006 by Gros Membres! rattsass
Even given Westbrook's injury past and future risk, there are only a handful of backs I would rather draft in PPR leagues.

Of course Philly doesn't really compare to KC... the one thing is.....philly is definately running the ball more... people say..."yeah, they always say that"...or something close to it..... but that's a lie...Reid says things along the lines of "we'll do what it takes to continue to win"..... Marty Morninwheg is definately running the offense to run more....but obviously still pass a good share.... and another back I like what I am hearing from is Reggie Bush...because they plan on lining him up at WR....so he'll basically be a slot WR as a RB, and in PPR leagues....that's fantastic... Any homers out there? he's been getting tips from Tiki's trainer and Tiki himself on how to improve his workout regimen and avoid injuries.... and he didn't have to rehab much as they embellished his injury a little bit so they can save him for the following season without risking any serious injury.... meaning...he was hurt....but not injured.....they diagnosed him with 3 different injuries before sitting him down....it went from a sprain to a fracture or something...I forget in a day or 2..... PantherDave
No slam intented, but in reality, is he not the best WR on the team anyway?? I don't have him as #1 but as solid #2 RB. He is IMHO the best flex option out there-if he stays healthy.

Randall
I still don't get how DD is considered a top 15 back.... 2 years ago he had a good year. In points for receptions he scores points, but the downside is his knee still seems unstable. It's probably more about Westbrook being too small to many people than Davis. Do you think they'll use Moats more this year?

Westy will get about 10+ carries and possibly 5+ receptions a game...since that will be part of the gameplan.... Moats will likely get 15+ carries....both will see the field together plenty....and hopefully along with a FB....

I got him in the 4th of our all rookie draft. Isn't he mostly a possession receiver?
Avernus
Any word on Avant on how he's looking? Was thinking of taking him if he's around in the 3rd round of my dynasty draft. haven't heard much about him....they like what they see so far...but at this point that means little.... all I know so far is they haven't said much about Pinkston coming off his injury...and they seem to love Gaffney...and Brown is coming along as they had hoped so far......and nothing on GLewis.... Avernus
3rd round? I got him in the 4th of our all rookie draft. Isn't he mostly a possession receiver? he's better off drafting Brandon Marshall.....I don't see Smith playing much longer in Denver....plus Lelie will likely be gone soon... so they'll have Walker, Watts...whoever else and Marshall....and they seem to be absolutely in love with Marshall...his nickname was "Baby TO" in college....
