Furd
linky Two sources close to the situation have confirmed that Jones' injury is symptomatic of a lisfranc fracture, which would likely require surgery. Lisfranc fractures are devastating because the recovery time can be vastly different from case to case and can sometimes take a year or more to completely heal. Big John
Who takes over duty for KJ> I believe it would be Arlen Harris, as he did so a few weeks ago.
chiefjay
Anyone in the medical profession that can expound on this injury? I heard on the local show it could be a 12 month type injury. I guess we'll hear more today.
Bronco Billy
Wow! Does this ever throw this year & next year into flux. It's too bad, really. I've never been much of a KJ fan, but the guy was getting it done this year on an awfully weak team.
Vet
I believe Carnell Williams had the same thing last year. And Michael Strahan (reportedly) has it now. The recovery time can be between 8 weeks and 12 months. It's very painful. If you've ever suffered from plantar fasciitis, it's a similar feeling except more excruciating. Plantar is a tear in the tendon that runs from the heel to the toes. I've had it, it sucks. I also had a lisfranc fracture a couple of years ago while training for a marathon. A lisfranc fracture is a crack in the bone above the plantar tendon - usually right along the arch of your foot. Mine only took about 10 weeks to heal before I could (very gingerly) start training again, but more severe fractures can take months to heal. I took some supplements to kickstart and accelerate the healing process. I'm sure professional atheletes have access to far more powerful supplements. But again, it all depends on the extent of the fracture. Caddy played with it last year (although not well), while others have taken a year to recover. I was waiting for a sarcastic/angry comment for you. But this was very beneficial.
