They went 8-8. Jennings is a real receiver. The defense will only get better. 8 wins is the safe bet. I'll go 9 wins this year. You're talking like this team was horrible last year. Thats not the case. They were not great, but no bad either. Favre will own the bears in Chicago because thats what he does, sweep the vikings, and take at least one from the Lions. Goopster24
The thing that impresses me most about the Packers is their young defense. Nick Collins can play, Hawk is a playmaker on the D, same with Barnett. Kampman is great too. I was very impressed with how they played at Soldier Field New Year's Eve this past season. The offense, specifically their running game and O-Line are the main concerns. I think the O-Line will be fine, but I don't know about the running game. McCarthy seems to love Morency right now. piratesownninjas
I'll elaborate. Driver is a stud. Jennings will be fully healed and a year under his belt. KoRo will be back around week six. Ruvel Martin is a solid no.4 The Oline that started 3 rooks last year will return in tact. These guys finished strong last year and will keep the momentum. They were the reason why Green had decent numbers, not Green himself. VoMo, Jackson, and Herron will be just fine running behind that line. On the defensive side, Justin Harrell will team up with Picket, Kampman Colston/KGB to form a really solid D Line. LB's will be Hawk, Barnett, Hodge, and Poppinga... Extremley solid The CB's are Harris and Woodson. I beleive that Blackmon will be the eventual guy in GB, but for now he'll be our nickel Nick Collins is our saftey of the present and future. The biggest question for me is if Underwood is ready to go. This team isnt ready to make a huge push, but this is a solid team that could surprise a lot of you. Don't sleep on the packers. I know there are a lot of people who want to knock the NFC North, but the division is young. I think it can be very competitive very soon, maybe even this year. Sir Loins of Beef
What did I miss because the draft was Saturday and Sunday right--offense average --1 top ten receiver--1 average young receiver-zip TE-running game fair but not explosive--defense is above average except for secondary which has been known to be exploited--free agency --that has produced what so far--for some reason I thought Green Bay was under the cap--the draft has a few could work outs maybe the kicker can start this year

How many teams have a top ten receiver? I'd think Fitz, Bolden Harrison and Wayne are all top ten receivers. Do a little more research before you call Jennings an average young receiver. He tweaked his ankle in the sixth game of the year and wasnt near 100 percent. Even then, he still went for 45 and 650. What do you expect from a rookie receiver? He runs excellant routes and has some serious hands. This guy will be a star. Kampan, Harrell, Picket and the Jenkings/KGB combo is way above average. Hawk, Barnett, Hodge and Poppinga are an extremley young and stoud LB Corps. Harris and Woodson is one of the best duo's in the league. Collins is young and will improve Manuel was spare, but he won't be starting this year anyways. Try again, wascaly wabbit.
Randall
At first I thought this was written by Spain. Ted drafted new WR's and I like the first day picks. Isn't KRob eligible week 3 or 4? He will help in the return game. Jennings could very well break out this year. If Jennings hadn't been hurt he would have finished with 1300+ yards(404 over first 6 games). He was the consensus ROY week 5 until he got got hurt. Let this play out. I was depressed yesterday too. Pack signs 3 FA's. Green Bay - Of the three undrafted free agents the Green Bay Packers are known to have agreed to terms with on Sunday night, Rory Johnson stands out. A 6-foot, 235-pound linebacker out of Mississippi, Johnson played alongside No. 11 overall pick Patrick Willis as a junior last season and projected as a third-round pick after recording 94 tackles and forcing five turnovers. The Packers also agreed to terms with 6-3, 315-pound guard Pat Murray of Division II Truman State and 6-2½, 225-pound quarterback Jerry Babb of Louisiana-LaFayette. Babb said he chose Green Bay over Jacksonville because he saw a chance to compete for the No. 3 quarterback job, which is currently held by second-year man Ingle Martin. Swiss Cheezhead
Drafts are done for year 3 and beyond. This is part of the reason why drafting for need is poor policy. It is virtually impossible to predict what needs will exist in 2 or 3 years. So if you think that Saturday and Sunday's draft will have a substantial impact on the coming year, you are wrong. I gotta say...that's an excellent point -- one that's forgotten all too often. I think the people who constantly preach "BPA! BPA! It's stupid to draft for need!" go kinda overboard sometimes. Most teams find a reasonable middle ground between the two. However, we ALL get caught up in the false perception that rookies always contribute. A rookie -- especially one chosen outside the top 10-12 -- usually isn't the difference between making the playoffs and staying home. They're almost NEVER the difference in winning or losing a SuperBowl. Bottom line: If you trust your GM's track record, you should never really complain about a draft class. CaP'N GRuNGe
I know! I know! Let me guess... "Your impression of the 2006 Minnesota passing game." What do I win? FIXED (I hope) Yeah, the Vikings are very young and probably won't be very good for a while, but at least with some new young skill position players being brought in (AD, Rice, Allison, Wade, Shiancoe, and Jackson starting) along with Tony Richardson returning, not to mention Greenway seeing his first action this year on defense, at least watching the Vikings should be interesting again. Sir Loins of Beef
What I was trying to say beyond the words---I wish Farve could have the best offense to go out in touchdowns not interceptions--My view is hopefully 8-8 and competitive
piratesownninjas
I think they finish second again to the Bears and flirt with a WC - 8-8, 9-7 Anything less and i'll be disappointed. As of right now I think it shapes up like this Chicago 10-6 Green Bay 9-7 Lions 6-10 Queens 5-11 I think its funny that the Vikings fans are laughing at our draft saying we didnt adress needs... A run stopping DT was our biggest hole. Meanwhile, they take Adrian Peterson, who is the best rb of this draft no doubt, but he's still the same position as there best player last year. Chester Taylor was not the problem last year. And if you think Rice and Allison are going to be ready to go this year, you're going to be disappointed. I like Rice a lot, but he's rough and has a lot of work to do.
