skhyatt
At first glance, don't really like the new format of the start/sit tool. Had just gotten used to the format last year, being my first here at the Huddle and now it's changed. I guess time will tell.
DMD
The Start Bench Tool was created to allow members to only see the players on their team which was a request by literally 95%+ of the respondents to our survey. While different, this tool allows the players to be seen in numerous different ways according to personal preferences.
White lightning
As I stated in another thread, I dig the new "start/bench" format. It allows you to buzz through the rankings, rationale, and easily compare both to other players.
Sturphy
I love the new start bench tool. Particularly once I entered all my relevant info and players in MyHuddle. I repeat, love it. Much more useful to me than previous years.
loaf
I was shocked when I clicked it, but like it
stevegrab
I like the player tracker piece and will be using that. Just different and a change people will all have to get used to. Question about the player tracker, it allows me to select Detroit Lions DEF, but then it isn't in my list of tracked players. Tried adding it again and no change. Is there a problem there, or no reason to track team defense (not used in start/sit tool)?
Sturphy
I am having a similar problem with RG3. I added him as a player to track, in one of myhuddle leagues, and he doesn't show up when I use the sit start tool, sorted for QB on that team. Patriots
I think I am going to like it. I just have to sit down and enter in all my leagues and teams.
delusions of grandeur
Love the new confidence ratings. That's always been kind of a problem, that you HAVE to rank all players, but knowing that not all projections are created equal... In the past, someone taking the rankings as gospel might have simply thought the highest ranked guys are their best bets for that week, whereas now you can compare whether it's worth it to go for a lower-ranked/high-confidence stud for that week or a high-upside/swing-for the fences but low-confidence play. I think that makes it much easier than to have to look at the rankings, start/sit and rest-of-year just to gather your confidence about a player. Very thoughtful feature. WJW
Very glad everyone's liking the new tool. Quick note, currently rookies are not tracking properly for leagues entered. The players are there in the system, they just won't show up in your leagues until we get it fixed. Working on it right now.
stethant
My initial reaction was negative (new things being new) but after sifting through it over the last hour I'd say it's a clear improvement from my perspective. Positives: -Can easily track players of interest to me on one page. Big plus. -Player predictions come with an uncertainty measurement, the confidence factor. Helpful to gauge prediction risk. -Big fan of Tuvey's writeups but the S1, S2, and S3 designations really didn't allow enough "degrees of freedom" to predict stats accurately, IMO. -Very glad Tuvey's team defense evals are still included in new format as a separate page. For the non-IDP leagues I find those very helpful for start/bench decisions. Potential Negative: -I did appreciate two different takes from DMD and j2v. I imagine that Tuvey's separate write-ups have been incorporated into the individual player descriptions that follow DMD's writeups of the teams/games. If that's how it's done, then we're not losing much. -The back and forth discussion generated when predictions significantly disagreed was also informative, more for the thinking process than the actual prediction. It'd be nice to retain that if there is wide variance between the two authors on specific players.
