Favorite Gameday destination

My local league will be celebrating our 10th year in 2017. As commish I've taken the liberty of taking steps towards planning a trip to a destination TBD. The current plan is to arrive on the day the season opens in 2017 which judging by the calendar will be September 8th assuming the thursday night games survive that long. We would be doing our draft that afternoon before kickoff, and staying until the following Monday and catching a game live on Sunday. We are all from Atlantic Canada so flying will be likely, however there are some destinations within driving distance ( NY, Philly, Baltimore, NE).

I'm looking for some feedback on personal experiences, best bang for our weak ass canadian dollar.

Best place to watch a game ( tailgate, ticket prices etc) mixed in with a great tourist attraction for 10 young guys. Likely will be renting a big house but open to hotels also.

Thanks in advance

New Orleans would be a good option. You can get a hotel room in the French Quarter for $50/night.

This was my first thought. Not sure about a $50 room in the Quarter, but the city is still in recovery mode and you can get some screaming deals on rooms.

Follow your Acadian heritage south and spend a long weekend in New Orleans. The food/drink options are limitless.

Boston is known as a party city, lots of history and night clubs and bars. Find a place, rent their business room and hold a live draft there, then turn tv on watch the game and drink beer in your private room

Yeah Boston is only about 5 hours from here but we've been there many times and frankly its the pats lol, and we hate them. But Boston has a "wicked good" bar scene, can go to fenway also.

New Orleans seems to be a popular pick amongst the guys. It will depend on the team also, if Brees is still there and they are some what competitive. Phoenix has been thrown around as well. Homes are dirt cheap for rent, vegas not to far away. Dallas also a popular suggestion

Well then come to Hollywood and I'll take you guys on a tour. I'm sure the Rams will have settled in by then.

I'll put that in the bank as a definite possibility. How far is San Diego from LA ?

1. Vegas

2. New Orleans

3. Kansas City (man the food is AWESOME there

4. New York City

5. Atlantic City

6. Boston

7. Chicago

We have done some destination drafts, but really, it all comes down to being with friends, good food, some ice cold drinks and fantasy football.

One of the best drafts we had was in a small town in Connecticut. We still talk about it and that was 22 years/drafts ago.

don't overthink this. New Orleans is where you want to be.

Miami would be nice but you will spend x2 as much. I'd go Tampa over Miami.

Wait, actually, midway through my post, I change my vote. Tampa. If you're a group of "10 young guys", and you think you might like "gentlemen's" clubs, Tampa is the place to be. Even if you don't like "gentlemen's" clubs, if you like ladies who you'd see at "gentlemen's" clubs, Tampa is the place to be. Every woman over 16 looks to be either working or wanting to work at such place. Weather should still be nice enough to beach it up. Do Tampa. Get out of the cold, get wild, get to the beach on the cheap (compared to Miami), do Ybor City, do Tampa. Trust me on this.

New Orleans is cool ... good food, Bourbon St. is fun and all...but the atmosphere is kinda dirty and dire. Tampa is sunny and optimistic. Do Tampa assuming the price is comparable. There's a lot of flight options into St. Pete/Tampa airports.

That's what I'd do. I'm a guy who's partied hard, played fantasy football, and lived in the south all my life.
