F'n kickers. Cost Oregon St an easy win in a game they dominated from the get go.

LSU will lose at least 2-3 games this yr with this pathetic QB play, and WR that cant catch a cold. Even the OL looked like Athena early on, OSU just didnt have the depth at DL to keep whipping their ass in the 2nd half.

LSU, USC & Oklahomo all struggled in their openers ...

Are you f*cking kidding. You obviously didnt watch the OU game today with a comment like this. OU was winning 37-10, in the 4th qtr, when they turned the game over to their 2nd and 3rd string, and 1 of those TDs was a bad throw by White that was returned for a score. Final score 40-24, a 16 pt win didnt do thsi game justice teh way they dominated the game. It could haev been 50-10 very easily if Stoops and Co. didnt call the dogs off.

OU has 2 100 yard rushers in the game, White throws for 200+ and 3 TDs as well.

OU didnt struggle in this game, they were never behind, and were never threatened.

LSU and USC didnt struggle, they showed what they are, average football teams. Cal and Ga will whip those 2 respectively and OU will be playing the winner of the Fla St./Miami game for the National Title. Hell even Auburn is going to beat LSU this yr.

LSU is not a top 10 team, period.  That performace regardless of what happens in the OT proves this team is mediocore, and should drop about 10 spots in the poll with a win, and 20 with a loss.  At home, you cant run the ball or pass for that matter on Oregon State,  over-rated.

Now...I don't think they will fall 10 spots Ryan...maybe 1 possibly 2..or maybe not at all... NO doubt LSU really should have lost that came 3 xtra points that kicker has got to feel that one for a long time!!!!! but LSU did win it...Give some credit to Oregon State they game planned really well and had complete command of the game..They just ran out of gas!!!!! and I agree with Ryan here.."did I say that" OU was never really threatened by BGSU. I thought Sooners was impressive for a first game. What was CSU coach thinking in the Colorado and Colorado State game???? 1st and goal slams the ball to stop the clock then runs Houston to short side of field on 2nd down..flipped channel so missed 3rd down assume another spike and then runs to short side of field again on 4th down to lose it!!!! NO PASS PLAY!!!! NO FIELD GOAL to send to overtime!!! bad coaching BIG BALLS to go for it but dumb coaching....I guess LSU taking a page from OSU " OHIO STATE" making their fans sweat all the way.

Sarge,

You are the biggest homer fan there is. Why would anyone take anything that comes out of your mouth as anything that is slightly reasonable. You are so blind for OU, you can't see the forest for the trees. You are probably still not over your own whooping from last year's Sugar Bowl. Get over it and move on!

I was at the game in question and a typhoon came through Baton Rouge. We yanked our QB and played a freshman QB who led us to a win. Russell is a stud in the making and he will get better quickly. He was the #1 QB in the country when he came out of high school two years ago. Yeah their kicker missed 3 XPs, our Kicker missed 2 field goals, so what. We also had a long TD called back and dropped 2 certain interceptions that would have been easy TDs. Yes, we played like crap at home against a BCS conference team with a freshman QB and new WRs. Yes, we could lose 2 or 3 games this year, easy. We play in the SEC (the toughest conference in the nation, by the way) and play Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, and Auburn all on the road! But LSU is for real and you are not! I am happy to see your Sooners GOT BY mighty Bowling Green. LOL

Oh yeah, and I am not going to respond to you again on this because it would just be a big waste of my time.

2 things that jumped out at me about the LSU game.

1. I've read allot in the offseason about how underrated LSU's strength/conditioning program and coach are. I think you definitely saw the benefits of that late in the game. OSU was just gassed and everyone besides the freshman QB for LSU was still running full steam.

2. I really wish we could have seen what would have happened if the OSU coach was able to get that timeout called before the last extra point miss. Apparently he wanted to go for 2 and the win which is probably the right decision in that situation.

So, the fact that USC and LSU played badly the first week is how they will play the rest of the year? If I remember right last year, didn't OU just kick the crap out of everyone and then get run over by Sproles? Then somehow they got to the championship game and looked like a POP Warner team against a freshman rb from LSU. OU is the poster child of BCS dysfunctionality.

LMMFAO, Arrogance is the only reason OU didnt cake walk LSU to a National Title. Stoops was dead set to play White even though he was only about 70%, over a healthy Paul Thompson who is redshirting this yr, and would have burned that pass rush on the ground and in the air if given the chance. There are those in Norman that feel White is the 3rd best QB on the team, yet he is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner. And if you want to talk about gased, did you happen to see the 4th qtr of that game. LSU was so out of gas, they tried to hand the game back to OU, but White was too injured to get it done, plain and simple.

LSU can make any excuse it wants, but they looked like Athena, and that freshman QB is nothing to speak about. He had fresh legs the 2nd half, when he wasnt on his ass cramping like a school girl, or he would have had the same fate as the LOSER Sr who has a 2-4 record if he had played the first half against that OSU pressue. OSU just didnt have the depth to keep the pressure on the 2nd half the way they dominated a so-called top 10 team at home blanking them 9-0 at the half.

This is not bind homerism, but LSU looks like Athena, and if you argue that point then put down your goggles. I watched every second of the OU-Bowling Green game and that one, and OU looked sharped for 3 qtrs leading 37-10 before putting in their 2nd and 3rd string and Bowling green scoring 2 meaningless TDs to make a 16 pt win look respectable. LSU on the other hand had no right to win that game, they were outcoached, outclassed, and domianted for 4 qtrs, and a stinking Kicker cost them a win they deserved. That D is also over-rated as hell. 1st and 30 on the opening drive and that QB assaulted that secondary.

And how is a team that you say could easily lose 3 games for real, with a freshman QB or a 2-4 Sr QB leading you with those Wrs, who look pathetic. The OL looked pathetic against a team lucky to be ranked in the top 50. The defense was hardly any better. And the amount of players LSU has had more to do with how fresh they were in the 4th qtr, than any offseason conditioning plan. If Memory serves me correct, and there is no doubt it does, LSU was gased the whole 4th qtr of the Title game, and easily should have lost that game as well. But they held on for dear life and my Sooners have a point to prove this yr. The fact LSU and USC wont be in the title game vs OU will be the excuse from you this yr. But this is the yr OU was suppose to contend for the title and the top recruit RB Adrian Peterson in the country is going to give OU the balance it needs to thrash anyone it faces in that game.

If LSU ends the season in the top 25 I will be very surprised.

OK, feel free to jump all over me. Been a huddler for a while but haven't posted much in the forums. Here's my opinion on the whole thing. First off, I like Ohio State but am not a homer. I'm a fan. I think the only thing that really matters is wins and losses. That is why they play the games. It is fun to argue about who is better at what position. Who is going to be drafted in the 1st round, etc. And which conference is the best. But it really comes down to who wins and who loses. It doesn't matter how you win or lose, it is the W or L that counts. One team may look much better than another on paper, but whoever comes to play usually wins in college football. I personlly think that the overall quality of college ball today is awesome. Every game you turn on is fun to watch. I think there are several tough conferences. But each conference has a different style of play and the teams in those conferences adapt accordingly. You really can't say one team is better than another based on their conference, and you can't say a team would get killed in another conference because they would adapt and recruit accordingly. I guess what I am trying to say is there are a LOT of good teams this year. I think the Ohio State/Michigan game will be one of the best games of the year and will have NC implications. I think the BIG12 championship game will put one of the two teams in the NC game. Overall this is gonna be a fun year!

All that being said, it just wouldn't be right for an Ohio State fan to not end a post in this manner:

OU SUCKS!!! Go scarlet and grey!!! :D

Like 'Blah' said above, a W is a W no matter how you get it. A little luck is always found in any NC team's run for the title, even for the undefeated Buckeyes a couple years ago, and its especially true early in the year, when the 'kinks' are being worked out.

The best thing that could've happened to both USC and LSU was to win a close one - a loss would've been too devestating to the psyche and a big win means they don't see the need to work. Coaches Saban and Carroll I'm sure made very good use of the phrase "we got lucky, now lets' get back to work" in those lockerooms chats. Yelling and screaming no doubt ensued. And they both secretly thanked the football gods for their good fortune, when the boys weren't watching....

I'm not worried about my Trojans until we lose one - then my anger/concern will burn a lot hotter. We were very conservative in the offense, waiting to see how the young O-line and WRs would do, and now Coach Chow can work on opening it up a bit every week. Cal, OSU and WSU will all be good tests, and I'll take the luck along with the hard work in every W we get...

All you have to do is read Sarge's last post to realize that there is a not a single unbiased bone in that man's body.  The main reason why he hates LSU so much is listed below:

LSU 21

OU  14

:D

394330[/snapback]

Lets get real, I hate Texas, LSU is just a b@stard stepchild that got in the way on one winter night in january in the Superdome to prevent the mighty Sooners from capturing their 8th National Title. Stoops got stooped by starting White and continuing to play him when it was clear LSU was gased, and Thompson could have come in and bust the game open. But Ill give Stoops the benefit of the doubt, he has been to 2 title games in 4 yrs, and another BCS game in between, and 2 wins out of 3. But this isnt about last yr, its about what I saw on Saturday night, and LSU is over-rated and Ga is going to jump them in the polls as a result of that so called win. :D
