Ronnie Brown reported to have signed

From another FF e-mail source:

As we told you in last night's email updated, the Dolphins made a

great offer to their first round pick, Ronnie Brown. Reports from the

Miami Herald are that he's accepted the offer and should be in camp

today. Haven't heard official word from the team yet but it looks like

a done deal. The early word is that he'll see roughly 19.5 million in

guaranteed money over five years.

Obviously, missing this much camp is not ideal. But let's watch

this very closely over the next few days to see how well he picks up

the system. Some folks may remember Edgerrin James' rookie year when

he held out for what seemed like forever but then looked great from

the start once he got into camp.

Ricky Williams will be serving his suspension for the first four games

of the season, so Brown needs to pick things up in a hurry. With

Williams out, that leaves Brown to compete against Lamar Gordon,

Travis Minor and Sammy Morris for the starting RB job. In other words,

we expect Brown to be the Dolphins starting RB.

I guess he got scared by Ricky's nice game the other night. :D

So, where do you guys draft Brown now? Still a 4th rounder, give or take a couple picks?

And what about Ricky? Seems like a decent flier pick (mostly if he gets traded to another team with problems in the power running dept., a la Philly, though I doubt Reid wants another head case in camp)

If got him in the sixth round this weekend in a twelve team league.  I drafted him a round after somebody took Ricky  :D .

That's retarded. :D

If he is there at 4.2 in my local, I'll have a tough choice between a great #2 WR and a stellar #3 RB with keeper potential.

Ditto. No way he lasts through the late 3rd/early 4th rounds in most leagues, IMO.

Next up, as Hugh said: Benson.

Yup. Iwas one of the worst/best drafts I've ever been involved with. We switched this year from a keeper to a redraft. Six points per TD, and I had the third pick. I took Manning. Moss, C-pep, and McNabb were also taken in the first round. I limited myself to three beers for the draft. :D Not many others used that strategy.
