Grits and Shins
Yesterday our association had a small intramural (karate) competetion. There was nobody in my daughter's 13 year old 2nd keup (2nd degree red belt) so they moved her up to the black belt division. There were 3 competing in forms, my daughter had to go last. The first girl scored 9.6's across the board and the 2nd girl scored 9.7's across the board. So that meant my daughter had to score two 9.8's and two 9.7's to win the forms competition ... which is exactly what she did ... she took first place by a mere tenth of a point. One one of the other competitors chose to spar ... so my daughter only had to spar once to determine first place. Best I've seen her spar in a long time and she took first pretty easily. She was very pleased to have competed up and still won. Daddy is pleased too
