Duchess Jack
We're always looking for new games. what are the staple 'lesser known' games at your card table. here's a crazier one... 'Son-of-a-bitch' seven card stud... you play with your best five... rather than dealing two down - one up, you start things off by dealing three down and players chose which of the three to be their first card up... 3s 5s and 7s are wild. Three comes faceup - extra card. Five comes faceup - out of the game. Seven comes faceup - match the pot or out of the game

Duchess Jack
all games played at our table. I hate baseball though. Actually it is midnight baseball I hate. Especially when you are not paying for the 3s 9s and 4s your lowhole... is that pretty much 7 card stud... low card in your hole is wild (As = High) - last card choice of up or down? Duchess Jack
We tend to make our follow-the-queen a black Maria game (how the heck do you spell Maria?!?!) Nice because it keeps people in till the very end, hoping that she will come up. There's no option at our table. If she comes out face up - re-ante, re-deal. Big Country
your lowhole... is that pretty much 7 card stud... low card in your hole is wild (As = High) - last card choice of up or down? 1297757[/snapback] pretty much, but we usually allow ace to be high or low, and sometimes we allow the option on the alst card, but usualy we don;t, we force it to be down asthat is the gamble when you are betting big banking on your 8 or 9 to stay low.... Kid Cid
All our games seem to end up with some variation on guts. 2 or 3 card, or 4 or 6 card double (high and low hands split pot). When the booze is really flowing you can throw the Indian twist in. One of your cards on your forehead, everyone can see it but you. Other than that, most of our poker variations have been mentioned. Me, I'm a traditionalist. I still prefer 5 card draw or 7 card stud to any of them.
Azazello1313
anaconda...everyone gets 7 face down, and you have to pass 3 to the left (or right, or 1 to the left 2 to the right, whatever)....make your best 5-card hand and roll them one at a time, betting after each card. can play for high, low, or high-low split. low-hole, roll your own is a great game. cincinnati is a fun hold em/omaha type game. everyone is dealt 5, and 5 community cards are turned up one by one with betting in between. Grits and Shins
I don't see the point in playing a game with a bunch of wild cards. The one exception is we used to play a game called low-card down is wild. Seven card stud, everybody's lowest card in the hole is a wild card for that person (and any other card that player has like it). Since the last down card has the ability to change your wild card we allow the option of buying your last card up.

Duchess Jack
Never played Razz Rat Fekker... Put three piles on money in front of you... we use three dollars... Everyone is dealt a car. They only thing you need to know in this game - is that you don't want the lowest card - A's are low. Person to the left of the deal looks at his card. If he wants it he says 'good' if not he puts face down and slides it to the guy to his left. The guy to his left has to trade his card if passed one - unless he has a king. Now remember, you don't need the highest card - you just don't want the lowest card - so if you are sitting with a 2 and the guy to your right makes you trade and you are passed a four (giving him the 2 - you're golden). Every trades one at a time with the person to his left and the dealer trades with the top of the deck. Low card puts one of his dollars in the center. Now the person to the left of the dealer deals out one card to everyone and the game continues.... It will keep on going like this until only one person has money in front of him. Its a nice money maker. With us - its typically - risk 3, win 21 Edited January 31, 2006 by Duchess Jack
Guest Cherni
RAZZ The lowest hand wins the pot. The format is similar to seven-card stud high, except the high card (aces are low) is required to make the forced bet on the first round, and the low hand acts first on all subsequent rounds. Straights and flushes have no ranking, so the best possible hand is 5-4-3-2-A (a wheel). An open pair does not affect the betting limit. RULES OF RAZZ 1. All seven-card stud rules apply in razz except as otherwise noted. 2. The lowest hand wins the pot. Aces are low, and straights and flushes have no effect on the low value of a hand. The best possible hand is 5-4-3-2-A. 3. The highest card by suit starts the action with a forced bet. The low hand acts first on all subsequent rounds. If the low hand is tied, the first player clockwise from the dealer starts the action. 4. Fixed-limit games use the lower limit on third and fourth streets and the upper limit on subsequent streets. An open pair does not affect the limit. 5. The dealer announces all pairs the first time they occur, except pairs of facecards, which are never announced.
