rai
No this isn't strictly about FF, but look at those point spreads, and 47 points over/under Indy/Houston and Sea/Arazona games (woot). I wouldn't want to play SD this week. I can't buy the Denver -10.5 over KC (didn't Den look bad against St.L?) Azazello1313
i think all 5 are pretty good bets, as well as chicago -8.5 hosting detroit. there look to be a few bloodbaths coming this week...
rai
Looks like the betting public is on board for Philly (woot) if they win then NY will be 0-2 as will be one or the other wash/dallas (woot). But then again the betting line is often wrong (see last week)
joeyd524@msn.com
how is the betting public on philly? explain philly-3 seems right. kc+10.5 looks good,so does indy.i would take the raiders+pts,..but i will be putting my money on the giants ml no line yet along with a couple of others i have circled. saints/g.bay over..ny/philly over
rai
how is the betting public on philly? explain philly-3 seems right. prior to the season the Eagles were favored to win the least games in the NFC East. as of now (I'd say) the Eagles are favored to win the most games. I know the Eagles are home but I'd expect the NYG to have more people betting on them (bigger market) to cancel out the Philly homers, so the non-philly/non-NY betters seem to think the Eagles will win. I know home gives maybe +3, but if the game was at NYG that'd make it 'even'. I'd say the Giants are in a near must win situation, at Philly, then (week 3) at Seattle (yikes) then By-week. Vet
I know home gives maybe +3, but if the game was at NYG that'd make it 'even'. Home field is usually worth 3 points. That means if it was at a neutral site, it would likely be 'even'. If it was at NYG, the Giants would be 3 point favorites.
joeyd524@msn.com
as of now eagles are fav to win most games, why because they beat houston. and vet is right if it were in ny it would be giants-3 maybe -4 if would have to be a nuetral sight to be even which could never happen. crispirons
I can't buy the Denver -10.5 over KC (didn't Den look bad against St.L?) it was a road dome game, denver much better on the grass, at home, in high altitude. the line started at 8.5 and quickly moved to 11 overnight sun/mon. over/under also got slashed 2 pts. down to 40. i have reservations about the numbers but looking at a two team teaser of denver -5 and under 46 might be reasonable. i would think you could snag a 3 teamer pretty easily adding seattle -1 against the cards. RussMan
What I like to do is take the teams I like and "tease them" In a teaser bet you have to take more than one team to win but you can get points. For example you could place a "2 team teaser with 6 points" bet and get.... BAL -5.5 IND -7 or ARI +14 KC +16.5 Or you could do more teams... ARI +14.5 BAL -5.5 CHI -2.5 The payout on a 2 team teaser with 6 points is about the same is betting a single team vs the line. With more than 2 teams the payout jumps but then of course you need 3 games to go you way to get paid. joeyd524@msn.com
you have to explain a teaser? i like to play 4 team 6pt teasers they pay +180 and mix it up with 2 college and 2 nfl
Mark5
The Denver +10.5 surprised me the most with Jake Plummer involved and the rivarly involved there. 'course I suck at picking games and just do the ESPN Pick'em games with our local league at $10 a head for all season..winner take all, usually around 150 bucks. Vet
Trying to take off my Jets-fan hat for a moment, here. Why are the Patriots not dd favorites over the Jets? The Jets over the Titans was like one JV squad beating another. Now their going to go up against the varsity and keep it within 6? C'mon! The Pats were a bit sloppy last week, but they should be 14 point favorites over the Jets on a neutral site, and at least 11 at Giants Stadium...I mean "The Meadowlands". This is one of the most inefficient lines I've seen in a while. Mangini isn't going to "out-Bellichick" Bellichick. I'll be up in 303 rooting for the green and white, don't get me wrong. And talk to me Sunday morning and I'll tell you exactly how we're going to dismantle New England. But looking at it today, NE -6 looks like very easy money.
