SLAYER
Just returned from the dome been ther since about 1 or so enjoying the pregame activities. for those that know the city there were a few surprises. Rebirth and Cowboy Mouth played on Poydras in front of the City Center at 2:30. Poydras was completely blocked off at 3:30 - 4 not by police but by fans in the streets. It was wonderful to see that many people in one place just having a good time, something this city hasn't seen in a while. If you have ever been here before for a Saints-Falcons game usually there are about 10-12 thousand Falcon fans in the stands. Judging from what I saw ther maybe 1,000 or so tonite. IT was very uplifting to see and be a minor part of. I know this may have been said or heard before but this is definately playoff atmosphere around here for the season opener. Calling all Dirty Bird fans name the bet sig or money let's go it's on. Go Saints Go. Edited September 25, 2006 by SLAYER
Pope Flick
I'm pulling for you guys tonight - it will be a great game, no doubt. One thing that concerns me, and it's one of those things you wouldn't think of until they mentioned it, is that the turf is SO new that it's unusually springy because it simply hasn't been used ever. I hope that doesn't lead to any injuries....
darin3
I went to the Saints/Falcons game the day after Christmas in '04. No Mike Vick (they'd already sealed their playoff spot), but it was still exciting. As a "Saint fan by contact", I am certainly pulling for the Saints tonight. Just talked to SuperBalla, and the entire region is going nuts tonight. Glad to hear the craziness is going on there with Cowboy Mouth and tons of fans. Enjoy yourselves... I'll be at a sports bar here in California, wishing I was down in the Quarter. Edit: Geaux Saints! The city does know how suffer and a few moments later celebrate life. Geaux Saints
neilfish2
It's funny seeing everyone outside the dome, usually before game time, everyone is in the bars until 1/2hr. before kickoff...
SLAYER
Sitting here watching the Goo Goo Dolls cying like a baby. for those of you who have never been here you just don't know what this means to this city. If a crowd and spirit can ever carry a sports team this is it. We need this like a junkie needs a fix.

SLAYER
ESPN said vendors near the stadium are selling Aaron Brooks spamshirts because everything else is sold out. There is a cold front coming thru tonite, maybe they need to burn them to keep warm.
neilfish2
Just a little insight on Saints fans. When Duece came back to New Orleans after the Oakland pre-season game, he went on a tour of the area. The first question asked of him was "Did ya'll win"
