Scare Tactics
Ok so i was just at the local liquor store, and i saw this bottle of wine. I asked the guy what it was and he told me.. "Thats sort of a special bottle of wine" It comes from France, and I can only sell it after Nov.3rd. He said the 1st batch is flown in, and then the 2nd batch comes by boat or whatever. He said once he sells out of what he's got, that it. You cant get it again until next November. Ok, so he suckered me into trying it, he had 2 cases left and i bought 1 bottle ($8.99). Anyway i was just curious if anyone has heard of this or had it before. (BTW i live in NY) Ok so here is what it says on the bottle: GEORGES DUBOEUF (the O & E are like merged together) BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU appellation beaujolais controlee red beaujolais wine product of France 2006 Edited December 21, 2006 by Scare Tactics

Scare Tactics
Yeah, that 1st label they show on the page is the one that i got. Thanks for the link, that was a bit informative, though i do now see that 1/2 the fun is supposed to be drinking it when it comes out on Nov.3, being that everyone will be drinking it the same day.. Anyway im going to try it tomorow night with some strip steaks....

Bier Meister
very fun bottles. i think of it as a summer wine. would be better with fish, chicken, pork.
twiley
This is a pretty popular nouveau and I'm surprised that many others haven't seen them floating around the stores. We had 5 of these for Thanksgiving and enjoyed them for what they were - young and very pleasant with hints of raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry. Many consider this a transition wine for people that only drink white and want to be introduced to reds. This is NOT a steak wine, it will not hold up at all. Head out to the store and buy a Cab or a Zin.
