Muggsy
I hate the team and I hate the driver even more but I think Tony Stewart is gonna take the checkered today. Not making the chase last year gave this jerk an even bigger chip on his shoulder and he'll be out to make a point. I also like the Busch brothers to finish in the top 5. Kyle's been fast all week in every event but hasn't gotten it done yet, if he just keeps his head he should do well. Kurt was fast all last year based on his 5-6 poles but couldn't get his Charger to handle in traffic, now they've had all offseason to get this fixed. tbimm
Stewart is the popular choice to win today but I like Hamlin and even the rook Gilliand(sp). Dark horse, although not that much of a stretch In restrictor plate racing, Gordon coming from the back row to win it!

godtomsatan
I plan on watching the Daytona 500 in hopes I can comprehend the attraction of the whole thing. So far, I understand that Toyota's involvement is a big deal, even though I just learned that the Camry is the only car in the race actually made in the US. And someone's little girl accused them of cheating. I also plan on smoking a joint at some point before the race, so no guarantees it holds my attention. Retrograde assault
Yep, last 50 or so was mayhem at its best. Demolition derby at 180+.
godtomsatan
I have to say that my successful management of keeping the race on throughout it's entirety paid off at the end. I wasn't really paying attention for the most part, but I did watch the last part rather intently. I was most impressed that my adopted team to root for (the UAW sponsored squad of Evernham Racing (?)) with Kasey Kahne and Elliott Sadler) were both in the mid-30s until the last part when they closed strong to finish in the top 10. I was most unimpressed that the fellow who, to my virgin eyes at least, appeared to choke the race away during the last lap, seemed rather non-plussed by the whole thing. In his post-race talk with the FOX guy, he basically said "Aw shucks, couldn't finish it today" while taking obligatory sips off a plastic Coke bottle.
