Grits and Shins
I have a 1998 F150 with ~150,000 on it. Sometime last week I started experiencing a "stutter" when I accelerate. When I reach cruising speed it seems to be fine. My first thought was that I was having a problem with my [manual] transmission but the tach did not seem to be reacting at all. My second thought was that there was a problem with the fuel or the fuel injectors. I have tried the simple approach of treating my gasoline with a fuel system cleaner and it seemed to help but I am not positive. It seems as if the problem is more pronounced when the engine is cold as well. Any ideas?
