dawgpack
What type of surgery did he have? Specifically. Some of the minor surgeries, like the microdiscectomy, can have someone back in 6-8 weeks. Fusions take a lot longer to come back from.

kingfish247
The article didn't say except to say it was for a herniated disc. I'm not sure but this sounds like what Dunn probably had, at least based on his symptoms... If your job requires physical labor (such as lifting or operating machinery that vibrates) you may be able to return to work 4 to 8 weeks after surgery. He probably has some very good doctors and he can devote his time to recovery (as opposed to an Average Joe) so 4 weeks doesn't sound out of the question. Square
He's going around the 11th round in some mocks. I wonder if he is worth a late round flier. Anybody plan on picking him up?

I might in deeper leagues. I typically have RBs with more upside that late in the draft. I would be in a sad situation if I needed to start Dunn at anypoint this season other than a bye week. SAD, SAD SHAPE.
Valhalla
I personally feel that Jerious Norwood could be a top 10 back if Dunn would stay out of his way.

You're not the only one who shares this feeling - but I say why? The Falcons are gonna be horrible this season and it's been said the Petrino favors a "pound-it" back (which neither Dunn or Norwood is). I just can't see Norwood being top 20 even. My league mates won't have to worry about me drafting him - tha's for sure.

If he is the 15th best RB that will be his top this season - I still say no freakin' way. When you have no other weapons on offense and Joey Harrington pulling the trigger, it won't be too long before Norwood sees 8-9 in the box. Double team Crump and Norwood, that's how you stop the Falcan'ts

My league mates won't have to worry about me drafting him - tha's for sure. Falcons may be horrible but word from camp and what he showed in the 1st preseason game is that Norwood is involved in the passing game (he's been catching a TON of passes in TC AND 1 quarter vs. the Jets he caught 2 passes) AND in the red zone (he scored from 10yds out in this preseason game). And about Petrino prefering a "pound-it" back, I think much ado about nothing has been made with that. Petrino prefers a power-running attack, aka traditional OL scheme and heavy use of a FB. Now obviously this means that a guy as small as Dunn is not likely to excel in this type of run game (and he hasn't in the past). Norwood isn't big, but he's not small either... he lists 3" taller and about 25lbs bigger than Dunn. Petrino has been impressed with how Norwood has been running between the tackles and behind the absolute wrecking ball of Mughelli.

It's funny that I didn't see ATL WRs dropping footballs when they were thrown from Harrington this past week like they allegedly did for Vick...
