PantherDave
...the Rams got completely dominated at home by the Panthers on both sides of the ball-the Rams went nowhere and the Panthers are a top contender to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, if you think otherwise.....put the pipe down and back away. STL Fan
Listen, pal, I was at that game and I have one freakin' thing to say... You're right. They pretty much did everything they wanted. But, I would caution you from thinking your offense is all that when you consider the Rams D last year was 31st and 32nd vs the pass and run and looks to be worse this year. Anyone can move the ball on us right now. We made freakin' Nick Goings look like LT.

Yep, at the game. So was the beer vendor, you can ask him he'll remember me. It was DeAngelo, obviously, who came in and spelled Foster, and BOTH of them made us look like fools. No question that D looked good. Bulger was horrible today, and Jackson had two costly drive-killing fumbles. Play calling in key situations was embarassing. That said, that Carolina front four is impressive. I was just cautioning you from reading too much in to Carolina's offensive production today. Pretty much everyone is going to do that to us this year. Steve Smith, by the way, is a beast. Looks like a body builder.

PSULions
I was unsure what to expect out of my Panthers today and was very glad to see both the offense and the defense did well today. As much as I want to be as exicted about the Panthers as PD is, I still need to see more from them before I will get too jacked up about this team. This game turned on the Rams losing Pace late in the 2nd quarter. After his replacement came in, the Panthers D looked much better. Not sure if they just stepped up their game or if the OL lost their leader and it became like a jail break as Bulger was running all over the place. The Panthers started running the ball effectively and as the D started wearing down... the Panthers started running it down their throats and running the clock. Did I like what I saw today... Absolutely, but my ensthusium is tempered by the fact this is just one game. The Rams will be fine as I believe they are a good team and Jackson will be a bigger part of the offensive gameplan going forward. I just hope Pace isn't out for a long period as it may be make it much more difficult to run the ball and stay balanced for any games they may be without him. PantherDave
How did Beason look today? I am expecting big things out of him this season. :crossesfingers: Hey, I love Torry Holt in big man love fashion-I had classes with him at NC State and would jibe him, calling him-Top 10(NFL Draft), but Beason smoked him good in the 2nd quater and Cliff Harris in the 3rd-and my man Torry went alligator arms there-after( even the commentator said as much in the 4th). The Panthers starting really hitting from mid 3rd through-out, basically just out physicalled(sp) the Rams.
