myhousekey
Was kind of hoping to see John Hall on this list as well.....I guess I'm rooting for the drunk...ugh. http://blog.nola.com/saintsbeat/2007/10/be...ot_forward.html Embattled Saints kicker Olindo Mare on Monday accepted responsibility for two missed field goals Sunday that might have been the difference between victory and defeat. But with immediate uncertainty regarding Mare's groin injury and his erratic play, the Saints will audition at least three more kickers today. League sources indicated Mike Vanderjagt, the most accurate kicker in National Football League history and someone whom the Saints worked out in March, is among those scheduled to work, as is former Dallas and Tampa Bay kicker Martin Gramatica. The agent for former Saints kicker Billy Cundiff confirmed Cundiff's scheduled workout. Saints Coach Sean Payton said the team plans to work out a group of players today, some for practice squad help. He would not specify which positions. 'No excuses' Edit: From the article it looks like there could be more kickers auditioning including John Huston. List of available kickers: John Hall Mike Vanderjagt Paul Edinger Billy Cundiff John Hall Todd Peterson Jose Cortez Matt Prater Ola Kimrin Seth Marler Jeff Chandler Edited October 9, 2007 by myhousekey
BOO
Bring em all in. None can be as bad as Mare is now.
Hitman
Maybe they should bring in a defense or offensive line for a workout instead.
Bronco Billy
Maybe they should bring in a defense or offensive line for a workout instead. I was just going to post that they should bring in a few Ds to try out. Maybe DEN can get their leftovers...
cdrudge
Don't you need an offense that can move the ball to get into FG range before a kicker is important?
muck
Since Morten is back, can Gary still kick? Jan Stenerud? Garo Yapremian?

kingfish247
Don't you need an offense that can move the ball to get into FG range before a kicker is important? Actually getting into range wasn't the problem last weekend... 4-2-CAR 2 (10:20) 2-O.Mare 20 yard field goal is BLOCKED (90-J.Peppers), Center-47-K.Houser, Holder-7-S.Weatherford, RECOVERED by CAR-31-R.Marshall at CAR 13. 31-R.Marshall to CAR 15 for 2 yards (86-J.Owens). 4-9-CAR 36 (2:19) 2-O.Mare 54 yard field goal is No Good, Wide Left, Center-47-K.Houser, Holder-7-S.Weatherford. d The 20 yarder didn't get more than about 6-7 feet off the ground. Also, heading into the Carolina game Mare was 1 for 3 on FG attempts. He's making 42% of his FG attempts this year... not good when your team is struggling to gain any sort of momentum whatsoever.
