polksalet
If a client calls me for a quote and says I am too high and I call another surveyor friend and tell him what I quoted her, have I committed price fixing?
Brewer
That may be an ethical issue that lands you before the state licensing board. I know that you surveyors are a wild and crazy bunch, but I'm pretty sure that would be over the boundry line.
yo mama
If a client calls me for a quote and says I am too high and I call another surveyor friend and tell him what I quoted her, have I committed price fixing? Hard too say... without a retainer.
Clubfoothead
We've already determined that any behavior leading to profits of $36,000,000,000.00 or less cannot be price fixing. Call yer friend. Edited November 2, 2007 by Clubfoothead

TheShiznit
If a client calls me for a quote and says I am too high and I call another surveyor friend and tell him what I quoted her, have I committed price fixing? No...why would that be price fixing. He has no obligation to quote her your price...that is if she calls that person.

chester
Why is it that a case of Bud and a case of Miler (wholesale) go up to exactly the same price on exactly the same day around here? They must just think alot alike.
chiefjay
If a client calls me for a quote and says I am too high and I call another surveyor friend and tell him what I quoted her, have I committed price fixing? I'm not a lawyer but I deal alot with contracts and I don't think this is illegal but I will say that you should be careful about your communication between you and your "friend". I'm sure he's a good friend of yours but if he's getting more contracts then you might know why. I'm probably being a bit extreme there but that's the only thing I can think of there. yo mama
so what did you quote him for a retainer I was teasing: this obviously isn't my area of the law. But I usually need a couple thousand up front before I starting working on something.
